The Best of Charleston Fashion Week Street Style 2017

When it comes to fashion, Charleston delivers it - both on the runway and on the streets. Night after night, Charleston Fashion Week attendees bring their street style game to the week long event. Color blocking, graphic tees, fur, sequins, coats, capes and of course, the perpetually on-trend- everything black... The Charleston fashion Week fashion shows spill over to outside the tents. It's pretty fabulous. Side Yard Studios did an amazing job of capturing the best of Charleston Fashion Week street style. See slideshow above - my partner Alex and I were caught a few times - got to keep up with so much #LexusCFW style!

Styling the OOTD for NYFW 2017

Looking effortless takes effort. Don't ever let a stylist, wardrobe specialist or fashion blogger tell you otherwise. As I created my outfit of the day (OOTD) looks for NYFW, I was going for a cool, I don't care too much attitude. Guess what? I found myself caring too much! That's when the "e" word came into play - EDIT. I wanted to sport a street-style vibe but the dapper gentlemen inside kept fighting me... are you sure you don't want a blazer with that? How about a dress shoe...?

When I felt I was getting too fussy with my looks, I'd take a step back and EDIT. Taking the New York city cold temps into account, I asked myself, how can I dress warmly, comfortably yet still look stylish. I then began pulling from my closet. First, the trousers: blue denim jeans from Uniqlo, black jeans by Helmut Lang, black cropped slacks from Kit & Ace and lastly, heavy wool pants with a camo pattern by Mark McNairy. For my tops I went the sweatshirt route: Gap and Todd Snyder. To "dress them up" try wearing a collared shirt underneath. Then it was time for footwear. I'm packing mostly sneakers: a pair by Vans - pictured above, super cool kicks from Nike and to step it up, the Will Chukka boot by FRYE.

Now that I have my wardrobe foundation set, I had to consider accessories, including outwear. I packed two jackets. One with a fur-trimmed hoodie and the other, a brown-bronzed puffer. Scarves and gloves also made their way into my luggage. And finally, some kind of bag is an essential. (See photo above.) In it, you can carry items like cell phone chargers, water, NYFW runway materials, programs, etc... Oh, and one last thing I packed - an umbrella. That too can go in my bag and hopefully stay there!

None of this was "hard." But just like most things in life, it took some thought and planning. Make sure to follow me on Instagram (@fashionado) for all things NYFW!!!

Escape the grid and explore your city in the new adidas PureBOOST

adidas Running today revealed the new adidas PureBOOST shoe. Inspired and created for runners who treat every step as a chance to explore, PureBOOST features a versatile, agile and adaptive design to enable runners to endure anything the city environment has to offer.

PureBOOST features an 8mm heel lift and progressive sculpting of the BOOST midsole, with a wider forefront for optimum support when navigating turns – perfect for running around sharp city corners. The outsole has also been built for the specific requirements of street running, with the rubber extended on the medial side for additional support and to protect against the elements of the city. The stretch web design provides superior grip, while allowing the foot to work in harmony with the BOOST midsole.

PureBOOST’s new knit upper incorporates a highly adaptive fabric, designed to move with the runner’s gait. A new double wrap tongue construction provides support, while allowing the foot to move in harmony with the shoe.

adidas Running products are developed in collaboration with a sport science team and researched using the ARAMIS testing system, a motion tracking technology that enables a detailed analysis into the movement of the body. adidas’ latest innovations heavily influenced the design of PureBOOST, resulting in a shoe that is built for the city, incorporating adaptive elements to help runners tackle any obstacle or challenge along the way.

Stephan Schneider, PureBOOST product manager at adidas said: “Runners all over the world are making cities their playground and use their runs as the ultimate way to explore. With PureBOOST we wanted to give these runners the ultimate tool to push their own boundaries, and take on the city head first.”
