Armin van Buuren Releases New Single and Premieres Music Video for “Heading Up High” feat. Kensington

admin van buren heading up high

GRAMMY® nominated DJ and producer Armin van Buuren releases “Heading Up High” featuring Kensington, the new single from Van Buuren’s full-length studio album, Embrace (Armada Music). The single is out now, accompanied by a music video that is premiered worldwide on MTV for an exclusive 24-hour window.

“Heading Up High” is yet the most infectious cut from Embrace and it set the Netherlands on fire when it shot straight to A-rotation at Dutch FM radio. For “Heading Up High,” Van Buuren chose to work with the popular Dutch rock band Kensington in yet another example of Embrace’s musical openness with instrumentation and styles. Kensington’s latest studio album, Rivals (Universal), peaked at the #1 chart position in the Netherlands. The band consists of members: Eloi Youssef (vocals, guitar), Casper Starreveld (guitar, vocals), Jan Haker (bass) and Niles Vandenberg (drums). There is a magical space where electronic dance music meets monster rock ‘n roll and Van Buuren and Kensington were able to find that phenomenal place.

The music video for “Heading Up High” depicts a crowd of inmates trying to escape a dome-shaped prison by heading up high through the roof. Among this group of prisoners is Hardwell, trying to soar to freedom alongside his fellow convicts, guided by the inspiring lyrics, rock-solid sounds and sturdy beats of Van Buuren and Kensington.

Said Armin van Buuren of Heading Up High, “I wanted to create a song that was just totally unexpected and I’d been drawn to the sound of Kensington for some time. We really vibed well together and I think my long-time dance music fans may be surprised by some elements of this song. It just really soars and I get a great reaction whenever I play it out! It’s got the feel of worlds coming together.”

“Heading Up High” is vibrant and dynamic with all the rock ‘n roll charisma that Kensington brings. It’s got a power-ballad pull that grabs the listener while delivering inspirational lyrics. The Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs BOOSTEDKIDS Remix is all blistering attack and sonic aggression perfect for today’s EDM audiences. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike hold the title of DJ Mag’s “#1” in its “Top 100 DJs” poll and the duo give their all to five-time DJ Mag “#1” winner, Armin van Buuren, on their remix. To those remixes, add the Years Remix and the First State Remix – both with achingly melodic arrangements and emotional swells – and it’s no wonder American radio programmers are taking note. “Heading Up High” is sure to be a festival favorite for summer 2016.

SAM FELDT RELEASES FIRST SINGLE OFF OF ‘BEEN A WHILE’ EP

sam felt music

Dutch prodigy Sam Feldt is back with another beautiful original 'Been A While'. It is difficult to classify into one specific genre because this new tune features light electric guitar plucks, whistle and trumpet samples, a deep house kick, and tropical elements. The melody aligns perfectly with the catchy vocals and will leave you singing along and feeling the good vibes. 'Been A While' continues Sam Feldt’s trail of mindblowing Deep House anthems. The track is part of an upcoming EP, which Sam is preparing to release in early March. Make sure you turn this song on when you’re in a place where you can dance otherwise you won’t be able to stop yourself.

Sam Feldt has been absolutely murdering the dance music scene for the last two years. He first stormed onto the scene with his remix of Fleetwood Mac’s 'Big Love' with De Hofnar in January 2014 and his debut on Spinnin’ Records came just a few months later remixing 'New Orleans' by Naxxos. He has done official remixes for Avicii, Icona Pop, Sander van Doorn, and Showtek. His latest original, 'Drive You Home' with The Him hit over a combined 1.5 million plays on YouTube and Soundcloud. To top all of the before mentioned success, Sam’s original track ‘Show Me Love’ reached gold status in the UK, Australia, Belgium and the Netherlands and even went platinum in Sweden. Mr. Feldt just finished a European tour with David Guetta and has performances coming up this spring at some of the most renowned festivals like Buku in New Orleans, UME in Texas, Coachella and Ultra Miami.

'Been A While' is released today via Spinning’ Deep. https://pro.beatport.com/release/been-a-while/1692653

Jacob Plant's "Reflections ft. Example" gets a three-part remix package Out now on Skint Records

jacob plant

British young gun (and easy on the eyes) Jacob Plant continues to dominate the future house space with “Reflections ft. Example.”

His collaboration alongside the UK singer has already racked up 2 million+ Spotify streams to date, ranking #2 on the Upfront Club chart and #15 on Shazam’s UK Dance chart. The monstrous record has now received a three-part remix package that pushes “Reflections” across all corners of the dance floor.

LA-based duo JVST SAY YES turns the track into a funky bass-fueled groove, London-based tandem MANT concocts a chunky tech-house rendition and fellow Londoner Natives drenches Example’s syrupy vocals in pattering percussion work.

“Reflections” reasserts Plant’s position as a beat-making wunderkid. The producer responsible for Fly Eye Records' biggest non-Calvin Harris release ever (his collaboration with Tujamo titled “All Night” which reached #1 on Beatport’s electro house chart, #3 on the main chart and was the seventh most played song of 2015) has been championed by Pete Tong, Zane Lowe and Danny Howard for his unique brand of futuristic sound-sculpting. Since catching his first big break in 2013 when Calvin Harris released his propulsive single “Shakedown” via Fly Eye, Plant’s productions have catapulted across international airwaves and allowed him to perform in front of thousands at Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds, HARD Day of the Dead, and even Wireless Festival where he rocked the stage and quite literally surfed the crowd.

MAT ZO UNVEILS “SOUL FOOD”- THE FIRST SINGLE FROM HIS FORTHCOMING ALBUM “SELF ASSEMBLE”

mat zo soul food

Grammy nominated recording artist Mat Zo announces that his second album, "Self Assemble," will be released March 25th via his own label Mad Zoo.

"Self Assemble" is the follow up to Zo's Grammy nominated debut album "Damage Control", which peaked at no. 7 on the Billboard Dance charts and made the top spot on their Heatseeker Albums Chart.

Drawing on everything from electro-funk and 70s disco through trance to 90s pop and dubstep, "Self Assemble" endlessly blurs boundaries to rhapsodic effect. Born from Zo's initial ambition to write a film soundtrack, the album is boldly cinematic in both scope and feel.

The first track to be released from "Self Assemble" is "Soul Food" which was premiered on Beats1 on Wednesday February 3rd by Zane Lowe.  Available to stream and download beginning February 4th, “Soul Food” is a nod to golden age greats such as Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers, whose influence runs throughout the album.

Hailing from an artistic family - his mother is a music teacher, father a world renowned painter (whose illustrious career includes painting a portrait for Diana, Princess of Wales), and sister an award winning Israeli folk-pop singer songwriter - 25 year old LA-based and London born ‎Mat Zo mastered the guitar, bass and drums by the age of 12.

By the age of 16, Zo had released his first single, “Exodus”, on progressive house label a:LOUD Recordings. Remix commissions from some of dance music’s biggest names followed before Zo began releasing Drum & Bass productions under the pseudonym MRSA through Hospital Records. He then went on to cement himself as one of the leading artists in the electronic sphere through both the release of multiple original recordings via Anjunabeats and an ongoing string of remixes for everyone from Ellie Goulding to Empire of the Sun, as well as his collaboration with Porter Robinson on “Easy” which hit no. 1 on the Beatport Top 100 chart in 2012.

More recently, the studio Svengali and self-professed production nerd has been focused on his newly launched record label Mad Zoo, and performing live everywhere from ‎Madison Square Garden to major festivals like ‎Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, and Tomorrowland. All in addition to continuing his pursuit of a musical story regardless of genre or convention with perhaps his most ambitious work to date:

“More than anything I’ve done before, I wanted this album to tell a story… what I want is for people to listen to the album as a whole—and then feel like they’ve arrived somewhere new once it’s all done.”

Mat Zo's album ‎"Self Assemble"‎ will be released on April 1st via Mad Zoo Recordings, and can be pre-ordered here.
