autoerotique

Autoerotique shows no mercy on his fierce Darker Things EP. In addition to the project’s lead single “Run For Cover,” the Toronto super-producer uses shrewd vocal sampling and grimy wubs to offer up “Slew Dem” and “Reverse” in a formidable display of his patented sound. With Darker Things, Autoerotique once again proves he is among the top sound designers in bass house as he continues to find new ways to push the genre forward.

Since its 10/21 release, “Run For Cover” has garnered a substantial amount of industry backing. After its premiere by ThisSongSlaps who praised it as “a lethal dose of his signature production style,” the single caught the attention of numerous heavy-hitters like Dillon Francis, David Guetta, Steve Aoki,Showtek and Afrojack, who dropped it on his renowned Jacked Radio show. “Slew Dem” followed suit, swiftly receiving radio support from A-listers Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Don Diablo, and Dyro, among many others.

Following a Juno Award nomination for his Max Styler collaboration “Badman (Torro Torro Remix)” Autoerotique kicked off 2016 with his Kids Don’t Care EP on Dim Mak. Moving into spring, he was tapped by Major Lazer to collaborate on “The Sound,” which proved to be one of the most popular festival season tracks as evidenced by Calvin Harris’ live support at Coachella.

Autoerotique remained red-hot throughout the summer, teaming up with Steve Aoki on “ILYSM.” The collaboration was featured on the Dim Mak founder’s celebrated 4OKI EP and has been streamed 11.4M times on Spotify. In addition, Autoerotique recently joined Aoki on MTV’s brand new Wonderlandseries to perform “ILYSM” live (watch here). Not slowing down any time soon, he is also planning to release an official remix of DJ Snake and Yellow Claw’s“Ocho Cinco” from the former’s debut studio album Encore. Autoerotique’s high-energy live persona and voracious workhorse mentality are deeply manifested in his genre-shaping Darker Things EP, out now for free on Dim Mak.

Autoerotique Drops "Kids Don’t Care" Remix Package

autoerotique remix dim mak fashionado

Autoerotique’s wubby Kids Don't Care EP gets a facelift (or bass-lift, if you will) in the form of four insane remixes. Autoerotique kicks off the package by flipping "Ratchet" on its head with a nasty trap VIP edit beforeEXSSV delivers a dubstep-influenced monster. Salt Lake City’s own Heartsprovides a thumping bass-house rework while TheElement goes a similar route, closing out the package with a rhythmic low-end banger.

Since Autoerotique’s original Kids Don’t Care EP reached #1 in Beatport’s Top 100 Electro House releases, the Toronto-born bass producer hasn’t missed a beat this year. After kicking off 2016 with a Juno nomination for “Dance Recording of the Year for “Badman (Torro Torro Remix)” with fellow Dim Mak slugger Max Styler, he dropped “The Sound” with dancehall barons Major Lazer. He followed with the bass house heater “OTF” on Fly Eye with fellow Toronto native Hunter Siegel, rapidly gaining support from Calvin Harris,Skrillex, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Oliver Heldens, Kaskade, Afrojack, andThe Chainsmokers, who dropped it live at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas. Keeping the momentum alive, he then unleashed his massive Steve Aokicollaboration “ILYSM,” which appeared on the Dim Mak label head’s 4OKI EP and has been streamed nearly 4.5M times on Spotify.

While the above-mentioned tracks are appearing frequently at big shows nationwide, so is the man behind them. Just this year, Autoerotique has thrown down at Mad Decent Party in Fort Lauderdale, HARD Summer in Los Angeles, and the world-renowned Red Rocks Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. He is also set to make an appearance at The Talking Stick Resort for Dim Mak’s official 20th Anniversary show in Scottsdale after dropping a killer set at the tour’s Miami stop.

Juno Award Nominated Autoerotique Drops New Single “Ratchet”

Juno Award Nominated Autoerotique Drops New Single ?Ratchet?

Ahead of his forthcoming Kids Don’t Care EP, Dim Mak’s Juno Award-nominated Autoerotique unleashes the second single from the EP, the bass house beast “Ratchet.” Available now as a free download, the tune embodies its title, as Auto injects his signature dirty house sound into an arrangement of grimy wubs and mean percussion patterns.

“Ratchet” follows “AUH”, the first single off the EP that Autoerotique shared via This Song Is Sick last week. Of the record’s premiere, TSIS lauded, “Autoerotique once again delivers another high energy club ready heater.”

February’s been huge for the producer, as the Torro Torro remix of his hallmark hit with Max Styler, “Badman”, was nominated by The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) for Dance Recording of The Year at the Juno Awards. Certainly a deserving candidate, “Badman” has dominated the dance floor and the web, soundtracking viral video content from Internet stars like Evelina (with 720K+ YouTube plays) and Louis Giordano (with 20M+ Vine loops). No stranger to viral beat making, Autoerotique’s “LYAOF” on Kaskade’s Arkade label racked 8 million views this past fall when Instagram/Vine personality tranceprncess posted a video of her shuffling to the beat.

Doubling as A&R for DIM MAK, Autoerotique remains a crucial part of the label’s history. In 2009, he made his label debut with “Gladiator,” a track that was remixed by the legendary late DJ AM & Steve Aoki, AC Slater and Klever. Since then, he’s remained a permanent fixture on the Top 100 charts – his landmark track “Feedback” with Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mikepeaking at #3 on Beatport’s Overall Top Ten tracks.

On Tuesday Feb 2nd, The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) revealed the list of musicians up for Canada's most prominent music prize, The Juno Award. Autoerotique & Max Styler’s “Badman (Torro Torro Remix)” was nominated alongside standout records from A-Trak, Katranada, Diplo & Sleepy Tom, and Keys N Krates for the 2016 “Dance Recording of The Year” award. The track has dominated the dance floor and the web, amassing over 6.6 million Spotify streams and becoming the staple soundtrack to viral Internet videos. Its feature in prominent vlogger Evelina’s “How To Dress Like A Badass” tutorial has received 720K+ plays on YouTube and it has surpassed 20 million loops on Louis Giordano’s Vine.

On the heels of this exciting nomination, Autoerotique is thrilled to announce the first single from his forthcoming Kids Don’t Care EP, “AUH”. Dropping Feb 12th, 2016, the bass-house heater contains a flurry of military percussion and rising synths, with titular vocals from Leah Culver.
