NYFW: Peter Do X Helmut Lang
/In May of this year, Peter Do was appointed as the new creative director for the New York City-based label Helmut Lang. Peter Do, whose eponymous label was established in 2018, has gained recognition for his artfully crafted silhouettes and minimalistic yet subtly regal designs.

/As the new year unfolds, many of us focus on a "new you." For me, this meant a fashionado upgrade. It was time to switch it up a bit with new looks, different styles. I took a more sophisticated approach to my personal style and image so in some of the photos I'm wearing Etro, one of my favorite design labels. Etro does pattern like no one else can and their fit is perfection! And because [I think] I'm a cool 50 year old, I couldn't resist and had to stage a few shots that showcased my ink. You can be dapper yet still be edgy.
One of the best photographers in Atlanta also happens to be one of my best friends... Tomas Espinoza. We've been working together for a long time. Tomas is a perfectionist as am I, so we're a great match. I was able to pull him away from his busy shooting schedule at HGTV and as a freelance photographer to spend half-a- day with me! I'll be replacing some of the fashionado banner images with these. Thanks Tomas!

Private Shopping with HELMUT LANG
/Photos: Avia Meadows
Last night in Atlanta, Helmut Lang was bubbling over with champagne and private shoppers. The atmosphere was casual yet uber chic at the same time. The fabrics, luxurious and [my] guests, super fabulous. I was thrilled to host the private shopping soiree in the new Helmut Lang showroom in Buckhead Atlanta. Some guests were HL fans while others were falling in love for the first time. But one thing they had in common, they ALL loved the brand.

DEMI STYLES
FashionMania Project Runway All Stars Face Off!
/The All Stars "faced-off" on the runway in last week's episode with special guest judge
Cynthia Rowley
. They were paired off by the seasons of the year and competed against one another over the hottest looks for spring, summer, fall and winter... Sadly, in some cases, more luke warm rather than hot.
Kenley & Mondo.
Kenley's "summer" look was cute, cute, cute - the judges agreed and liked it way better than Mondo's. Isaac especially like that it was a one piece and that the fit was right. Georgina pointed out that the dots didn't line up at the seams. Cynthia Rowley didn't get Mondo's look at all. I was a little surprised that she couldn't think outside of the box.
Austin & Kara.
The reinvented khaki wowed the judges but they hated the blouse. Me too! Really, Austin, a "spring" look featuring florals... how original. The judges are questioning Austin's sense of (or lack of) style. Kara's look was too simple. The judges didn't love it either. My question for Kara: where are the accessories???
Mila & Rami.
I'm a Mila fan. Cynthia liked the "geometry" of her "fall" look though Georgina observed that if you're going to create Helmet Lang style pants, the fit really needs to be tight and less timid. I get it. Isaac hated Rami's color choices but all the judges loved the cut of the blue coat. Unfortunately, that love didn't save Rami who got sent home.
Jerell & Michael.
Project Runway wouldn't be "reality" tv without a little controversy. You copied me! No I didn't! Jerell accused Michael of knocking off his "winter" jacket... whatever, who cares... At the end of the day, Jerell was the overall winner. Congratulations. Get over it.

BARNEYS Co-Op Fall Fashion Glam-Slam
/by L. B.
This past Friday, E. Vincent Martinez and Caren West of Caren West PR had a sequin, fur, and fun-filled play-date at the Barney’s Co-Op in Phipps Plaza. Between oooh-ing and aww-ing over the spectac Barney’s 25th anniversary items and figuring out just how to undress the famous blue mannequins (the trick? lift the arms UP and then out-who knew?) a handful of KILLER
fall/winter
looks were styled.
The result of the Friday glam-slam= eight impeccably styled blue mannequins.
Take a look:
Vincent and Caren pulled this stunning 3.1 Phillip Lim dress for the first look (and this dress happens to be one of the 25th anniversary items)! An added bonus: true to 3.1 Phillip Lim form, this dress has pockets! How convenient, right? We decided to pair the dress with a sturdy Alexander Wang purse, spike-y Fallon bracelets, and an Annie Costello Brown bracelet that really popped.
The next look featured a Helmut Lang top, Helmut Lang leggings, an Annie Costello Brown necklace, a stunning Sissirossi green bag that Caren quickly became obsessed with, and pair of Ray Ban aviators. So casual, so chic.
Next up was a gorg Isabel Marant top paired with the same Helmut Lang leggings and two gold Aesa necklaces. We loved the way the two necklaces of differing lengths complemented each other.
I’ve been pining for this structured Alexander Wang handbag for a couple of weeks, so I was thrilled when Vincent pulled it for this look. And it
does
look excellent next to this smokin’ Helmut Lang jacket. Girlfriend is workin’ it!
Vincent and Caren’s next outfit featured this sophisticated-yet-fun Forget Me Not scarf with a L’angence jacket, Helmut Lang black top, and Etten Eller necklace. I was tempted to pluck the jacket right off of the mannequin to keep for myself, but I refrained...
The minute I walked into the store I
knew
this fab Vince sequin top was a must-feature. Suffice it to say that I now have a full-blown obsession with this sequined-beauty. In a stroke of fashion-genius, Vincent grabbed this amazing faux-fur Burning Torch jacket. On bottom: a pair of light-washed R13 jeans that added a touch of casualness. Side note: the Barney’s Co-Op has one of THE best denim bars in Atlanta- you pretty much owe it to yourself to go check it out!
Now, on to mens apparel! We adored this cozy Thom Browne sweater, paired with a matching Thom Browne scarf and undershirt. To top off the look, our photographer,
Andrew Wicker
, suggested this Rag & Bone hat that we all agreed really pulled the outfit together. The look also features True Indigo Cone Mills denim and Fiorentini + Baker boots.
--- If you’re a denim-on-denim fan (like myself) then you DIE for this next look, I’m sure! Denim shirt, red undershirt, and jeans are all by Levi Vintage Collection, and the messenger bag is by Will Leather. Yes, please!
My personal fave?
The sequin-and-fur get-up. Love the casual light-washed denim with the blingin’ top and glam fur. Something tells me that somewhere, Rachel Zoe is smiling...
