Over the winter, WatchTheDuck (WtD) made their Dim Mak debut with the genre-crossing EP, The Trojan Horse. Executively produced by Steve Aoki, Pharrell Williams, T.I., and Tricky Stewart, WtD united hip-hop heads with EDM fans across seven show-stopping singles, with opening track “Stretch 2-3-4 (feat. Pharrell Williams)” quickly becoming a fan favorite. The up-tempo, funkified, exercise call-to-arms earned accolades from Billboard,Okayplayer, Hypetrak, and more, with Revolt proclaiming, “Kanye’s ‘Workout Plan’ might have just been replaced.”

Following a stint in a Samsung Galaxy commercial, “Stretch 2-3-4” returns to television, this time with Gatorade Propel as part of their #MadeToMovecampaign. To celebrate the single’s success, Dim Mak has released two brand new remixes – the hot-and-heavy deep house edit from LA’s Boots N Pantsand the equally deep trapped out revamp from JiKay. Click here to stream both remixes.

Since The Trojan Horse dropped, WatchTheDuck has been relentlessly active. As revealed in their Inside The Trojan Horse series, Eddie and Jesse don’t just put on a show – they bring the party. This spring, they performed alongside BJ the Chicago Kid for a Revolt Session during Grammy week in Los Angeles and touched down in Tampa for SunFest. They also joined Dim Mak’s 20thAnniversary celebrations at Miami Music Week and SXSW, the latter of which allowed them the opportunity to discuss life on the road with Vibe. Looking ahead, WatchTheDuck will take their talents south for a hometown show at Shaky Beats in Atlanta. Fans can also catch them at the after-party where they’ll rock the stage with Marshmello and other special guests.

ETC!ETC! & TIGHTTRAXX Drop Turn-Up Anthem “Trompa” In Time For Festival Season

“A long established favorite of the bass favoring masses, ETC!ETC! has fast become one of North America’s most promising trap and moombahton jugglers”

ETC!ETC! & TIGHTTRAXX Drop Turn-Up Anthem Trompa In Time For Festival Season

If you thought ETC!ETC! would slow down even for a moment, you played yourself. The LA-based beatsmith links with fellow Angeleno TIGHTTRAXX for the rattling turn-up tune “Trompa.” The producing twosome take the track from electro to trap and back again, pummeling the beat with a double-time drumroll and serpentine horn line. Already being supported by Skrillex, Jack Ü and Flosstradamus, the track is moving crowds left and right. Check out the tune going off during ETC!ETC!’s Coachella set here.

“Trompa” marks the latest in a long string of collaborations between ETC!ETC! and TIGHTTRAXX. A sought after pairing, Valentino Khan recruited the producers for an official remix of his game-changing record “Deep Down Low.” They’ve also linked for bootlegs of Yellow Claw’s “DJ Turn It Up” and The Chainsmokers’ “Kanye,” and raised the production bar with originals like “Jungla,” and “All Over Di World.”

ETC!ETC! arrives fresh off a massive 2015. Following appearances at TomorrowWorld, Beyond Wonderland, EDC Las Vegas, and Mad Decent Boat Party, he delivered his highly anticipated EP Wicked to critical acclaim. Across six highly diversified tracks that saw collaborations with Fatman Scoop, Sanjin, and Hawkeye, the project was ETC!ETC!’s most multi-faceted to date, earning support from ComplexDancing AstronautYour EDM and more.

Alex Sardo honed his craft for years ahead of debuting the TIGHTTRAXX alias. Before his solo stint, he was one half of the duo DSKOTEK, who scored stage time at EDC Las Vegas and Nocturnal Wonderland after winning Insomniac's first ever Discovery Project in 2012. When he emerged as a producer in his own right, TIGHTTRAXX began creating exactly that: tracks so tight they caught the attention of upper echelon artists like Diplo and Borgore.

Party Thieves “Undrafted” EP out now on Flosstradamus’ Hi Def Youth Label

party thieves undrafted ep fashionado

Party Thieves kicks off legendary trap duo Flosstradamus’ new label, Hi Def Youth, with today’s release of “Undrafted” EP. The EP includes four songs consisting of three heavy-hitting bangers and an intro dedicated to his nephew Jon. The prelude, “For Jon,” puts the New York-based producer’s emotions on display with drawn out piano chords that evoke a sense of melancholy. “Death Row” hits hard with an ominous lead, accented by delicate snare patters and a frenetic apex of synth stabs and shuffling vocal chops. “#ZOOTED” brings a slow-churning, trapped-out beat topped with steamy samples, while the EP’s most raucous offering “BADD’” closes things out with percussion-fueled drops and a militant-style drum-kick progression.

Flosstradamus just celebrated their second annual, sold out HDY [Hoodie] Fest at Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre on 4/20. At the show the duo debuted their new production that consists of a 40ft x 15ft bunker equipped with an LED screen, t-shirt machine gun, satellite tower, and DJ booth. This summer, Flosstradamus will perform at some of the biggest festivals including Bonnaroo, Panorama, Lollapalooza and Mad Decent Block Party, to name a few. They will also continue their popularFlossvegas residency in Las Vegas at Surrender Nightclub and Encore Beach Club.

At the last TomorrowWorld, I had the pleasure of sitting with MaRLo about an hour before his live set. This year, Michael Beas of RaverMagazine.com got a chance to do the same while MaRLo was performing at Ultra Music Miami. The scene was a little chaotic in MaRLo's South Beach hotel room and superstar Andrew Rayel even photo-bombs the interview!

Moby Releases "Music From Porcelain" + Book Tour

moby music from porcelain edm

MOBY RELEASES “MUSIC FROM PORCELAIN” THE FIRST COMPREHENSIVE COLLECTION OF HIS MUSIC TO ACCOMPANY THE RELEASE OF HIS MEMOIRS, PORCELAIN

“Music From Porcelain” is the companion album to Moby’s book of memoirs entitled, Porcelain, (Penguin Press; May 17). The album is a collection of newly re-mastered versions of classics including “Go!,” “Honey,” “Natural Blues” and “Bodyrock,” among many others, combined with a hard to get collection of classic Electronic music recordings from artists from 808 State to A Tribe Call Quest. “Music From Porcelain” is released June 10th on Thrive Music.

“The music in 'porcelain' is almost as important a character in the book as i am. to that end I've compiled a collection of songs written about in the book, both mine and other people's, in a little time capsule to accompany it. These songs all remind me of the New York that I lived in and was smitten with from 1989 – 1999,” Moby says.

Moby was an unlikely fit in the club scene of late ‘80s and early ‘90s New York City. A devout Christian, vegan, straight white kid from the suburbs, he was an outlier in a world dominated by people of color, gays, drug use and general debauchery. And yet, Moby was able to not only to break into one of the most difficult scenes in the entertainment field, but to also build a thriving career and go on to become one of the most interesting and iconic musicians of our time. By turns funny, disquieting, and moving, his unforgettable memoir, PORCELAIN, he recounts the ups and downs of his fledgling career.

In the midst of this organized chaos, Moby remains open to new people and experiences in a way that feels not only refreshing, but also nearly impossible in today’s New York. As a result, he finds himself crossing paths with some of the most memorable artist to come out of that era: Madonna, Run-DMC, Jeff Buckley, Sonic Youth. Moby’s is a wide-eyed ride: he gets cursed at publicly for ruining a freestyle session with Darryl McDaniels when he accidentally bumps the turntable, he shares a bathroom—and falling in love at first sight—with a dominatrix at a swingers party, and unwilling to turn down work, spins three shows in one night in England. His humility, curiosity, work ethic, and earnest desire bring joy to people through his work lead to success and an the inspiring story of one of the most influential musicians in modern history.

Moby will be embarking on a North American Book Tour throughout May and June.

Afrojack and Laidback Luke connect on ‘Move To The Sound’

afrojack and laidback luke edm

The undefeatable pairing of Afrojack and Laidback Luke tag-team dancefloors across the world in May with the release of their knockout collaboration Move To The Sound.

A commanding, pitched-down hip-house style vocal from Hawkboy sets the tone as a big build-up prepares us for some classic Dutch house style rhythm. Phat kicks and tight claps punctuate a deliciously undulating electro house flavour bassline while a manic, screeching lead line provides the mayhem, the energy slowly building as hi-hat and ride patterns enter the fold and big stabs heighten the tension. The next breakdown brings a funky breakbeat pattern before the snares hammer us home towards an unexpectedly huge payoff, with the rhythmic bassline swapping places for a driving, guttural one that plays a triumphant melody.

All in all it’s every bit as innovative and brimming with ideas as you’d expect from these two highly experienced stars. It’s been a big moment in their sets of late, with both Afrojack and Laidback Luke road-testing it recently at Ultra Miami to great effect.

Move To The Sound is the latest in a long line of killer releases for Afrojack’s WALL Recordings, with recent highlights including a hot Miami sampler, D.O.D.’s rowdyTaking You Back (Afrojack edit), Munar feat. Ambush’s hard-hitting Voorhees and of course the mega hit ‘Hey’ from Fais ft Afrojack.  The label continues to unearth great new talent.

May sees Luke play DLDK in Manchester, UK, Light and Daylight in Las Vegas during EDC Week, We Are NRG in California and Electric Elements in Canada. Afrojack meanwhile will be rocking the crowds at EDC New York, Wet Republic in Las Vegas, Wish Outdoor Mexico, Barbarella in Dominican Republic and Summerburst in Sweden.
