Our collaboration with Raver Magazine took us to South Miami for the Ultra Music Festival. Raver Magazine's Michael Beas scored a sit down interview with San Holo via The Untz.

Sander van Dijck known by his stage name San Holo, is a Dutch DJ, composer, musician and record producer. His quest to become the world’s top producer started with a breakthrough remix of Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode,” which achieved explosive virality, pulling in over 85 million hits. Throughout his career he has dropped tracks on Spinnin' Records, OWSLA, and Monstercat.

Michael and van Dijck discuss everything from career, new music and swapping baseball caps... which they did btw... that's Michael's cap San Holo is sporting during his Ultra 2016 set!

Electric Dutch Duo GLOWINTHEDARK Release “Fire Alarm" ft. Alicia Madison

glowinthedark edm

Dutch powerhouse GLOWINTHEDARK is back on Dim Mak with “Fire Alarm (feat. Alicia Madison)”, the first delivery off their forthcoming Stars & Moon EP. Helmed by the frantic synth work and blistering builds that are tantamount to the hard trap style, “Fire Alarm” plays up spunky vocals from Alicia Madison, making it a vibrant club-ready anthem.

GLOWINTHEDARK is an identity that describes the entire creative experience by Albert Harvey and Kevin Ramos, from their luminous sound design to their electrifying live performances. Early on, the Dutch duo’s production chops gained the attention of the legendary David Guetta, who offered his collaboration for the massive Beatport #2 Progressive banger “Ain’t A Party” as well as the #3 Electro mainstay “Clap Your Hands.”

Sustaining the top of the charts, the duo hit another home run when they linked with fellow Dutchman and forefather of the Dirty Dutch sound Chuckie for “NRG,” and proved themselves as in-demand remixers when their edit (together with Wax Motif) of Chuckie & Junxterjack’s “Make Some Noise” landed at #1 on the Beatport Dubstep chart. “Fire Alarm” marks their highly anticipated return to Dim Mak, following the massive Deorro collaboration “Rave Century.” Dancing Astronaut raved about the single, calling it “a thrilling sound that’s begging to be blasted from the nearest speaker.”

With an electrifying sound and an ability to light up any crowd with their contagious energy, GLOWINTHEDARK has become an act to not miss. Since 2013, the duo has held down residencies at Pacha Ibiza and blazed the stages at David Guetta’s annual FMIF parties. This summer GLOWINTHEDARK is poised to spark the world with their new EP, Stars & Moon.

Benny Benassi and Chris Brown partner on “Paradise”

Last summer Benny Benassi posted a snippet of a new collaboration alongside R&B megastar Chris Brown called “Paradise” to his SoundCloud, and in 30 hours the upload received more than half a million plays. Since both artists were in the midst of other release commitments, the preview was pulled from the streaming service and fans were left wanting more of the high-octane singalong.

Today the tandem releases “Paradise” in full, showcasing the track as a radio-ready anthem driven by Chris Brown’s lovestruck croons. The progressive, pulsating record comes four years after the duo’s inaugural collaboration on “Beautiful People” - one of the biggest crossover records of 2011 which topped the US club charts, reached the top 10 in Australia, Ireland, NZ and UK, and the top 40 across Europe.

On this collaboration, Benny Benassi notes “Chris and I were working on this song for a while. We both always really loved it and believed in it and I am so glad it’s now out! It was amazing to get Chris on a bicycle for the video! He was awesome. It’s such a pleasure to make records with such a huge talent. Hope people like it as much as we do!”

Chris Brown adds "Benny and I have a history of making special music for the fans worldwide. Paradise is another collaboration that I believe the fans will love and embrace."

Before “Beautiful People,” Benassi was a legend in his own right from launching to fame with his global smash “Satisfaction.” And soon after his collaboration with Chris Brown came his partnership with star vocalist Gary Go that yielded Cinema. An EP of epic proportions, the original radio edit went Gold in the US and Platinum in both Australia and Canada, with Skrillex’s thunderous remix occupying the Top 10 on the iTunes US Dance Chart for over 6 months and swooping a Grammy for “Best Remixed Recording" in the process.

This year the Italian maestro has been on a production tear. In January he teamed up with songstress Vassy on “Even If,” combining arpeggiated keyboard chords, delicate drum kicks and soaring house melodies with Vassy’s lustful vocals for a crossover anthem which Idolator hailed as“easily the Italian producer’s most accessible offering since Chris Brown collaboration “Beautiful People.” Last month Benassi unveiled “Beardo” on Ultra, an exceptional underground club track comprised of saturated synths and classic Benassi keyboard reverbs that puts vocals to the side and let’s the groove do the talking.

“Paradise” is out now on Ultra Music.

Meanwhile, tickets are on sale now here for the premiere of the documentary I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD--which takes a compelling look into the life and mind of STEVE AOKI, one of dance music's most hardworking, controversial and captivating characters--at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City Friday, April 15 at the Beacon Theatre. The screening will be followed by an exclusive conversation with AOKI and a live performance where fans and movie goers can experience the music that was created during the film.

I'll Sleep When I'm Dead was shot during the making of STEVE AOKI's Neon Future double album (Dim Mak/Ultra Music, 2014/15). It follows AOKI on his journey to play the biggest show of his career at Madison Square Garden and centers around his complex yet loving relationship with his father, the Benihana restaurant tycoon and former Olympian Rocky Aoki. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead comes from the minds behind JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI and explores similar themes of family bonds and expectations. It is directed by Justin Krook, produced Matthew Weaver (Rock of Ages), Matt Colon, Happy Walters and David Gelb (Chef's Table, TFF2015; Jiro Dreams of Sushi, TFF 2011).
