The 9th annual #DoggiesontheCatwalk is just around the corner. The fashion fundraiser for Canine Assistants takes place on June 4th at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. The event starts with a cocktail reception from 7PM - 8:15PM followed by the fashion show at 8:30PM, emceed by Monica Pearson. This is an outdoor event so dress as stylishly cool as possible.

Our models have been working hard promoting Doggies on the Catwalk and helping to sell tickets. They will be modeling in looks by Alice + Olivia, Akris, Theory, Planet Blue, COS, Les Copains, TOD'S and carrying bags from Christian Louboutin. Of course, the greatest accessory is also the show-stealer, and they are the beautiful service dogs from Canine Assistants! Sixteen golden retrievers, goldendoodles, black labs and a couple of 3-month old puppies will strut their stuff for you!

Proceeds from the $50 dollar ticket goes to Canine Assistants who provides service dogs to children and adults with disabilities. They do amazing and important work. Puppy Love, Tracye Hutchins & Doggies on the Catwalk

This is not her first 'catwalk!' 

Tracye Hutchins, the evening anchor on CBS 46 is no stranger to Doggies on the Catwalk. Tracye first came onboard in 2010. At the time, she was the host of CBS Better Mornings and I was teaching at Grady High School. One of my student designers created Tracye's dress for the 3rd annual Doggies on the Catwalk. That year, Georgia Public Broadcasting produced the event as an hour-long GPB special. It was an amazing experience, though truth be told, I'm glad to have my show back.

Since then (2010) Tracye has been involved with Doggies on the Catwalk almost every year. She told me that she looks for that modeling invitation every year... it'll keep coming! 

Last Friday, I met up with Tracye at the Canine Assistants farm - 18 acres of beautiful land in Milton, Georgia with horses, ponies, goats and of course, doggies - lots of them!

Tracye called Grace at Canine Assistants to set up the tour. She wanted to meet the doggies and learn more about the important work they do and life-saving services they provide. Tracye and I were love stricken by the puppies. There was a 3 week old litter that just melt our hearts.

Styling Tracye in an amazing frock from The Shops Buckhead Atlanta is the easy part... deciding which doggie will be her modeling partner will be the challenge. She loved them ALL!

Tod's + Atlanta Ballet - Event Recap & Weekend Shopping Event

Spring has sprung, and Tod’s welcomed the season with a private shopping event at its Atlanta flagship boutique at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta for approximately 100 stylish guests on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.  Benefiting Atlanta Ballet, guests joined hosts and Tod’s Band members Michelle Crosland, Joanne Chesler Gross, Mandy Kellogg Rye and special guest & Atlanta Ballet dancer Coco Mathieson for an unforgettable evening of shopping, champagne, sweet and savory bites from Le Bilboquet and mixing and mingling.  Featuring Tod’s coveted Wave Bag and new arrivals from the Spring Collection, 10% of the evening’s sales were donated to Atlanta Ballet. Mark your calendars because Doggies on the Catwalk returns to The Shops Buckhead Atlanta on Saturday June 4th. The events begins at 7PM with cocktails with the fashion show at 8:30PM. Monica Pearson will once again emcee and our models have already been working hard supporting Canine Assistants. About the Doggies on the Catwalk photo! 

We shot this at "the farm" - Canine Assistants in Milton, Ga. It was a chilly 45 degrees, but our super model Rachel Zehner didn't even shiver! Brandi Mallory did the make-up and kept Rachel looking fresh all morning long. Grace Murphy, Theo Tyson and Lindsay Klein kept "things" moving. The gorgeous dress and shoes are from Alice + Olivia. They are from their Spring/Summer collection and will be available in stores soon. I partnered once again with the talented Tomas Espinoza for the photography. He, Grace and I walked the acres of property to scope out the perfect location. Oh and what about our doggie model?! A natural, wouldn't you say!

Hello SPRING! I know you're not here yet though it sure looks and feels like it. The pleasures of living in Atlanta.

Days like today (and just like last week when this photo was taken) are heavenly reminders that this is Winter in the South. I love it.

This is not a "fashion" post where talk about Spring fashion and tell you what to wear and how to wear it... So what about the photo? Well, that's where it gets very exciting. VERY! I was asked by Atlanta Pet Life Magazine to be featured on the cover of their Spring issue along with my dog Simone, aka, Miss Fashionado. I am thrilled! O- Em- Gee!

The Cover!! (Wow... not this photo because Simone isn't in it.) There is another one with her, that I will share when the issue comes out. It's amazing!

While my favorite photographer, Tomas Espinoza, who is also my dear friend (and one of the best photogs in the city, btw) and I were hopping around my favorite property, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, we came across this floral billboard. Tomas and his creative eagle-eye spotted it across the street from the newly opened Tom Ford. This was the perfect backdrop for my lime green Mr. Turk blazer. End of story.

Not entirely... The Shops Buckhead Atlanta is the hosting location for Doggies on the Catwalk, so when I conceptualized the cover shot for Atlanta Pet Life I knew immediately that this had to be our "set." With that said, save the date for Saturday June 4, 2016 for the 9th annual Doggies on the Catwalk. Our benefiting sponsor is Canine Assistants - a truly inspiring non-profit that is changing lives, big and small. Service dogs and high-end labels will make quite the fashion statement.
