As a former educator, “UrbanCouture,” “Feed the Models,” and “Doggies on the Catwalk” are all products of E. Vincent Martinez’s creative vision and energy as well as his dedication to giving his students unique learning opportunities. Born in Havana, Cuba, Martinez came to the United States 40+ years ago. He grew up in Miami where he remained to earn his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Barry University. Later he received a fellowship to spend two years at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. He received his MFA in photography in Rochester, NY at Rochester Institute of Technology. After earning his teaching certification at Georgia State University, Martinez joined the Grady High School faculty in 2002 and was named Grady’s 2007 Teacher of the Year. In 2010, Martinez received the prestigious Atlanta Families Award for Excellence in Education, the district’s highest award.

E. Vincent Martinez has been named one of the best dressed Atlantans by the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Access Atlanta.

The  versatility of the entertainment industry has led her to work with  singers, athletes, actors and more, including: Bono, Jane Seymour, Alicia Keys,  Ne-Yo, U.S. Presidents, Akon, Real Housewives of Atlanta, Ryan Seacrest, and many, many more! In addition to running the agency, and working as an artist, Nyssa makes regular appearances on television to discuss, fashion, lifestyle, and beauty.

Tomas Espinoza of Tomas Espinoza Photography is a fashion, portraiture and lifestyle photographer residing in Atlanta. In addition to working on his own independent photographic projects from an artistic perspective, Tomas also works with the top modeling agencies in the nation. Tomas shoots for a range of private and commercial clients to include some of the top publicists in Atlanta. You can also see his work in Modern Luxury publications. For fashionado, Tomas is specifically working with E. Vincent Martinez on an ongoing series of personal style imagery making Tomas not only a regular contributor to fashionado.net but a valuable member of the team.

VIKTOR LUNA 2012... might we be seeing the birthing of a genius? A word I don't use casually, but after having the privilege of viewing Luna's Fall Collection in his New York studio a week before NYFW, my instincts say, yes! His brilliant use of textiles such as goat hair, brightly dyed leathers, metal fasteners and must-have accessories reveal that Viktor Luna is an artist and designer who not only celebrates chic innovation but has a creative vision with a potential impact on the industry. His tailoring is impeccable and sense of scale and proportion, spot on. All the pieces are very wearable yet maintain a solid level of alluring drama which sets it apart from "just" being RTW. In Style @ InStyle

Two Fridays ago I was walking into the Time & Life Building in NY for an appointment at InStyle Magazine. The purpose of my visit with the fashion features editor was mostly casual. [She's fabulous, BTW!]

This was my first time inside the offices of a major publication so I was happy to get a grand tour BUT thrilled to walk in the "closet." [Never thought I'd be excited to be in the closet again!]

The fashion closet was everything I expected and more. Okay, for real, its nothing like "the closet" in that movie. That only exists in Hollywood blockbusters. Nonetheless, it was a large space filled with clothing, shoes and accessories, stacked ceiling to floor. Movable walls revealed shelves stocked full of the season's latest sunglass, scarves and handbags. A number of platforms shoes on the floor had been pulled for an accessories feature [had to walk around those] and three rolling racks of lingerie had just been returned from a shoot. The unglamorous task of cataloguing every single piece upon arrival is a tedious job that must be done as all items are returned to designers. Yep, they don't get to keep anything!

Either way, I can now say [boast] that I have walked through the fashion closet of a major magazine.

How did it feel?

Like a kid in a designer candy store!

the new DOGGIES ON THE CATWALK!

The 2012 Doggies on the Catwalk has strutted over to May 18th and has undergone a major fashion make-over. There's a new venue we're so excited about, Room & Board in West Midtown, and to elevate & inspire our sense of fashion, the fabulously chic & hip Tootsies and Bill Hallman will be dressing all the celebrities in the show. Monica Pearson, Jenn Hobby and Cynthia Bailey are just three of the gorgeous models, 15 in all, who'll be gracing the catwalk. And once again, Vikki Locke returns to emcee.

That's not all! The lucky doggies are getting a fashion upgrade too, with canine couture by Dixie Dog. *[One thing that hasn't changed -please remember- is that the ONLY dogs permitted on the premises are the ones in the show!

There is so much more to tell, but I will leave those surprises for a later date. For now, please save-the-date for the 5th Annual Doggies on the Catwalk, May 18, 2012.
