FRYE CELEBRATES 2nd ANNIVERSARY WITH A LIVE PERFORMANCE BY LITTLE TYBEE

little tybee

FRYE Atlanta is celebrating two years in Atlanta with a music-infused evening at its store in Ponce City Market on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. Featuring an intimate, live performance by local favorite Little Tybee, FRYE Atlanta’s two-year anniversary celebration will keep attendees busy with nonstop interactive opportunities including an on-site vinyl pressing and listening station, signature Bulleit Bourbon cocktails, and Wild Heaven craft beer. Vinyl lovers will have the chance to bid on a limited edition Crosley record player with all proceeds being donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.  Finally, shoppers that spend $1000 or more will receive a Crosley Nomad record player and a Paper Garden Records vinyl gift pack with purchase. The event is for ages 21 and up by RSVPing to rsvp@thefryecompany.com.

FRYE Atlanta opened its doors in August 2015 in the Old Fourth Ward’s Ponce City Market – a reimagined mixed use development housed in the historic Sears Roebuck distribution center, originally built in 1926. The 4,000 square foot space, located on the center’s main level, draws inspiration from vintage artisan workshops to highlight the craft of old-school shoemaking. The space is defined by its signature harness ring chandelier, an installation comprised of 28,000 harness rings hung on 7,000 leather straps. Its minimal fixtures and lighter wood detailing create a modern feel in a space that simultaneously nods to the brand's 154-year history. The award-winning store seamlessly captures the spirit and essence of FRYE's heritage while being distinctly local to the Atlanta market.

The Frye Company’s Atlanta flagship store is located in Ponce City Market at 675 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30308. For more information visit, www.TheFryeCompany.com.

A Cuban tasting at The Consulate

Picadillo, tostones in a garlic-lime mojo sauce and shrimp empanadas are just a few of the delicious options on the upcoming Cuban menu at The Consulate restaurant in Midtown Atlanta. My partner, Alex Page, discovered The Consulate about a year ago and we have been fans (and regulars) ever since. We've gotten to know the friendly and gracious owners Doug and Lin so when they mentioned that the next culinary destination on the map was Cuba, mi corazon said "Azucar!!"

Lin, who is also The Consulate's Executive Chef, has been working on and perfecting the Cuban menu for over two months. She is very detail-oriented and has done her research to create the most authentic cuisine for her guests. Lin has did the same for Guam and all the other countries they have featured.

The Consulate is a sexy space, rich in velvets, brass and mid-century modern furntiure. Along with the mouth-watering tapas they serve, The Consulate boasts some of the best hand-crafted cocktails by the most experienced mixologist, Mr. Jones. The Cuban menu is phenomenal. Alex and I were treated to a private tasting of every item and closing out with flan for dessert. We were honored to receive the invitation as not even the wait-staff has tasted the new menu.

The Consulate transitions to tastes of Cuba on July 1st BUT I am delighted to invite you on Friday, July 14 for a celecracion Cubana at The Consulate. I am thrilled to be hosting this party so bring your salsa dancing shoes because we're gonna have FUN!

Rudy's Barbershop Opens at Ponce City Market

rudys barbershop atlanta

“We’ve been looking at Atlanta for a while. It’s such an amazing city, especially the Old 4th Ward neighborhood with its rich history and creative energy. Once we heard about the Ponce City Market space, we knew it was a perfect fit for our brand. We think there’s a big opportunity for us to find a strong customer base in the Atlanta region” – Brendon Lynch, Rudy’s CEO.

Free haircuts ALL day! To celebrate its grand opening in Atlanta, Rudy's Barbershop, located at Ponce City Market (on North Ave) is giving free cuts all day starting at 9AM!

I got my cut yesterday and got a chance to meet and chat with Rudy's CEO, Brendon Lynch. They are very excited to be in Atlanta and feel there is a hip crowd here that will embrace Rudy's. I can tell you, there is and they will. While the space is full service, ,offering everything from a basic haircut to coloring, Rudy's is a welcoming place - you want to enter and the staff makes you feel welcome. That's great but what about the quality of services? Excellent, of course! I love my haircut.
