AVICII IS BACK! - 6 TRACK EP: ‘AVĪCI’ OUT NOW

After eight intense years of music-making and touring around the world - Avicii, aka Tim Bergling– announced that he was stepping down from the stage. People everywhere thought he had left the music scene for good. Shortly after Tim went out on a journey across the States together with his closest friends and creators, and this transformational journey led him back to the joy of doing what had always meant the most to him – composing music. One of the first tracks to come out of that process was “Without You”, a song of freedom and empowerment, featuring Sandro Cavazza. Avicii performed the track at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival in 2016. Of the new EP, Avicii says:

“I’m really excited to be back with music once again, it has been a long time since I released anything and a long time since I was this excited over new music! My focus on this first EP of the album was to get a mix of new and old songs, some that fans have been asking about/waiting for mixed with brand new songs that they haven't heard before!"

Today Avicii, releases ‘AVĪCI’, his highly-anticipated EP of six new tracks.  ‘AVĪCI’ is his first new music to be released since 2015. The ep features collaborations with Rita Ora, AlunaGeorge, Billy Raffoul, Vargas & Lagola and Sandro Cavazza, continuing Avicii’s practice of working with great vocalists who can deliver on the uplifting energy and infectious melodies of his music.

Hitmaker Rita Ora features on the pop anthem ‘Lonely Together’, on a classic four-on-the-floor that bridges the gaps between pop, dance, and the phases of Avicii himself. AlunaGeorge, the English electronic music duo from London, appear on ‘What Would I Change It To’, a soft reflection of one who's finally convinced that the “right now” is right after all.  Canadian-born, 22-year-old singer-songwriter Billy Raffoul’s character driven vocals power ‘You Be Love’, which was recorded in Nashville; It's pure Avicii brightness with the clean, catchy style and uplifting energy.

The EP opens with the “Friend of Mine”, which blurs lines between folk roots and a burning synth hook. It’s a tale of friendship lost and longed for sung with playfulness by fellow Stockholm natives Vargas & Lagola, who have previously collaborated with acts such as Miike Snow, Madonna, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Katy Perry and more.

The final bonus track on ‘AVĪCI’ is a remix of Sandro Cavazza’s track ‘So Much Better’, remixed by Avicii.

Armada signs Feenixpawl's Eclypse Records + New Single Out Now

Feenixpawl armada

Feenixpawl - Australian pair Aden Forte and Josh Soon - hit their first club jackpot when Axwell signed 2012’s ‘In My Mind’, leading to massive chart runs, debut airplay from Pete Tong, and remix work for Rihanna and Kaskade. The natural progression of getting their own label up and running saw the Australia-to-LA imprint Eclypse Records amass a healthy roster of club crusaders.

This all-round surge through the scene, plus with the potential of new track ‘Love Me for Life’ to be within earshot of all major holiday destinations this year, is the sort of juggernaut that Armada Music want to add to their fleet: the Dutch giants are to sign Feenixpawl’s Eclypse Records, a partnership the duo are very much looking forward to.

Feenixpawl: “We are extremely happy to be able to bring Eclypse Records over to the Armada family! To be able to collaborate with one of the biggest and best dance labels in the world has been amazing, and we are so excited about the new music we’ve been working on. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Eclypse and for Feenixpawl, and we truly believe that working with Armada will only help us continue to grow and expand as artists and as a label.”

Armada Music’s Maykel Piron: “In a short of space of time Feenixpawl have made the sort of waves that those at the top end of the EDM/dance spectrum cannot fail to have noticed. Their sound, ethos and drive reflects everything that Armada stands for, and teaming together makes for exciting times ahead”.

On hand with sunscreen and ice cream, ‘Love Me For Life’ comes bang on trend with humid, high definition club vibes aligning EDM and dancehall with a touch of bittersweet 80s reminiscing, the synthesized calypso a vocal, end-of-the-night come together with the charts in its sights. The rise of the phoenix continues!

GRAMATIK & ERIC KRASNO RELEASE NEW SINGLE "RECOVERY"

gramatik eric krasno recovery edm

"It's got a vintage swing, sure, but the bass kicks are too future. Vocalist and guitarist Eric Krasno sings soulful inspiration to anyone who's struggling to get their mind, body, or heart back on the right track." - BILLBOARD

Eric Krasno is having some kind of year. The Grammy Award-winning songwriter, producer, guitarist, vocalist and label-head, celebrated for his work as a founding member of Soulive and Lettuce, has been playing sold out shows and major festivals across the U.S. in support of his acclaimed solo album, Blood From A Stone. The collection was released via his label, Feel Music, which has also delivered albums by The London Souls and Nigel Hall. Meanwhile, as a producer, his work with Aaron Neville, Lawrence, The Motet and others has only further established his reputation as one of the music world's most prolific, multi-dimensional artists.

With an epic 2016 behind him, Gramatik is in the midst of the next chapter, and 2017 is already just as wild. Last year he impressed fans and critics alike with the new album, Epigram and its subsequent remix EP featuring a number of Gramatik's favorite producers. To kick off 2017, Gramatik released a new collaboration with GRiZ, titled, "As We Proceed," that has clocked in over one million plays on Soundcloud since its January release.

Keeping the momentum going for both artists, Gramatik is now releasing another single entitled "Recovery," this time with with close friend and collaborator, vocalist/guitarist Eric Krasno. Out today via Gramatik's label Lowtemp, "Recovery" came into existence after a leg injury Gramatik sustained that required a break from his intense touring schedule. The time off the road allowed Gramatik to return his focus on writing, testing new ideas, and producing a host of new music. For "Recovery," the release has a more traditional arrangement than what we are generally used to in electronic dance music, so Gramatik made sure the tone of this one is set right from the get go. The track opens with a blissful, 50s' musical instrumentation, and then jumps right into the first verse with no long build-ups. Krasno was responsible for the straight-to-the-point lyrics that don't hide behind unnecessary metaphors, and he also provided the vocals, as well as, his signature guitar playing.

As for how the track came to be, Gramatik simply states "Kraz and I are in 'Recovery' from 'Torture'"—a reference to the pair's first collaboration together. According to Krasno, "Recovery" began as a part of his larger concept album until Gramatik got an ear on it: "'Recovery'" is a track I initially wrote as part of a concept album I've been working on (coming early 2018). Gramatik heard it and instantly wanted to work on it. He had been through an intense leg injury and really related to the hook of the song. He then flipped it on its head in the best way possible. I love working with him; his tracks always feel and sound amazing. We have also have a few more tracks in the works."

As for what's next, it's yet to be known what will become of the many tracks Gramatik created during his time off the road, but stay tuned as those hard-drives are sure to come to light. You can also catch Gramatik live around the world from Denver's Red Rocks Amphitheater to Paris' Zenith through fall 2017. Find all Gramatik tour dates here. For Krasno, he'll be touring with his band and gearing up for a Soulive residency (Bowlive) at Brooklyn Bowl in June. More info on Krasno's tour dates here.

Cyran drops Miami Wild EP out now on Circus Records

cyran miami wild

It’s been just over a year since Cyran signed to Circus Records, which was not long after the beach-based beat maker came to the label's attention by winning the Circus Two remix competition.

Since then he’s hit the spot with his first EP release Work, an expression in laid back swagger. Followed by “Bass Machine” on Circus Three, Cyran has firmly established that sound. As an artist who thrives in the sun drenched pockets of the West Coast, it’s no surprise then that he chose to celebrate the East Coast’s sister of his home, Miami. There’s no better time to do that than the wild times of Miami Music Week

Miami Wild is a four track EP where he takes his sound to a different level, still ingrained with that deep rolling character and identity, but adding weight, power, energy and expressing the Cyran translation of what Miami means.
