SBCR (SIR BOB CORNELIUS RIFO) AKA THE BLOODY BEETROOTS ANNOUNCES SBCR & Punks Vol. 3

SBCR

Following a massive 2015, SBCR (Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo) aka The Bloody Beetroots is back with the third installation of his EP trilogy: SBCR & Punks: Vol. 3.  Each volume sees Bob rounding up his favorite musicians (whom he labels his Friends, Adversaries, and Punks) for unique collaborations. Speaking on punk, Bob once told GQ, “I think it’s related to my lifestyle – the extreme desire to break the mold at any cost.” As someone known for pushing boundaries, often via creative collaborations (see “Out of Sight” feat. Sir Paul McCartney, “Please Baby” feat. P-Thugg of Chromeo, and “Warp” feat. Steve Aoki), he takes this ethos to heart, as he breaks down any and all preconceived notations with this three part project.

Across five booming records on Vol. 3, we hear the dance punkster get mischievous with the likes of TWNTYMLS, Tai, and Signal Noize. Underscored throughout the EP are all the classic elements SBCR’s productions are known for – gritty bass, scattered percussion, grimy synths and rock-heavy guitar plucks. The first single, “Guillotine,” embodies the larger body, kicking things off with double time instrumentation and a timeless, head banging drop.

Last year, he launched the experimental trilogy with the groundbreaking SBCR & Friends, Vol.1Entertainment Weekly called the single “Blush” a “highly addictive, rock-inflected, piano-laced dance track” and Fader praised “TheGrid,” drawing comparisons to British dance pioneers LFO and heralding its “nasty, gigantic electro” sound. The release was followed by the second installation, SBCR & Adversaries Vol. 2, lead by singles “Spider” and “Black New York Tee.” Backed by a wild tour that stomped through New York City, San Francisco, Washington DC, and several other North American cities, this EP saw visual incarnation in the form of six video vignettes from ingenious director Bad Boi.

Getting back to his roots, Bob is excited to share with the world this final installment, the punk edition. Fans can hear the new songs live this March on Dim Mak stages at SXSW and Miami Music Week. In his own words,

“This journey, through three EPs, lasted more than 14 months. Thanks to Dim Mak, Steve Aoki and my die-hard fans for supporting this genre rollercoaster. It’s been really productive to get out of my comfort zone, creating something diverse and really inspiring.”

MAT ZO SHARES VIDEO FOR 'SINFUL' feat. I SEE MONSTAS

MAT ZO SINFUL FEAT. I SEE MONSTAS

Grammy-nominated producer Mat Zo today shares the official video for ‘Sinful’, the second track to be taken from his forthcoming album ‘Self Assemble’ due for release on March 25th.

Following on from ‘Soul Food’, which was hailed as an “absolute banger” by Zane Lowe after premiering on his Beats 1 radio show and enjoyed success as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on Radio 1, ‘Sinful’ continues in the same electro-funk, Daft Punk-flecked vein. The track manifests Zo’s hypercreative spirit with a soulful disco shimmer that goes hand in hand perfectly with director James Chappell’s sci-fi styled accompanying video. The video tells the story of a seductive robot who follows the lead of the pole-dancing women she observes in an underground joint, using her silvery good looks to entice an unwitting human. While Zo nods to an overarching theme of his bemusement with society’s fixation on technology and the pitfalls of the digital age, his aim is to create something that can be left to interpretation, open for all to enjoy and muse upon.

The remix package comes in the form of a heavy-hitting Drum & Bass banger from Skrillex-signed Teddy Killerz, a mellower and slightly cosmic take from nu-disco producer Louis La Roche and a funked-up reinterpretation from remix veteran Mason.

‘Self Assemble’ follows Zo’s debut album ‘Damage Control’ which was nominated for the 2015 Best Dance/Electronic Album Grammy, peaked at no.1 on the iTunes Dance Album Charts and reached no.7 on the US Billboard Charts.

As a figurehead of the dance music scene, Mat Zo has taken to the stage everywhere from Madison Square Garden to major festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival and TomorrowLand, and remixed artists such as Ellie Goulding, Empire of the Sun and Porter Robinson. Zo and Robinson also co-produced ‘Easy’ which hit no.1 on the Beatport Charts.

Mat Zo's album ‎"Self Assemble"‎ will be released on March 25th via Mad Zoo, and can be pre-ordered here. "Sinful" is available to download and stream now.

DIM MAK's New Noise Free Download TIGHTTRAXX & DNNYD "All Night" feat. Hawkboy

DIM MAK's New Noise TIGHTTRAXX & DNNYD All Night feat. Hawkboy

When two rising producers with similar musical aesthetics join forces, the result is inevitably explosive. In this case, TIGHTTRAXX and DNNYD pair up for the bass-thumping electro anthem “All Night”. Alongside a vocal assist from Hawkboy, the feverish jungle beat features electro charged synths that pump relentlessly, maintaining unrivaled intensity from start to finish.

Alex Sardo honed his craft for years ahead of debuting the TIGHTTRAXX alias. Before his solo stint, he was one half of the duo DSKOTEK (pronounced discotheque), who scored stage time at EDC Las Vegas and Nocturnal Wonderland after winning Insomniac's first ever Discovery Project in 2012. When he emerged as a producer in his own right, TIGHTTRAXX began creating exactly that: tracks so tight they garnered support from upper echelon artists like Diplo and Borgore. TIGHTTRAXX has a history of well-received collaborations, his remix of Yellow Claw’s “DJ Turn It Up” with ETC!ETC! having received over 600K plays on SoundCloud.

DNNYD (pronounced Danny D) has similarly grasped the attention of the world’s top DJs, from Tiesto to Steve Aoki to Laidback Luke. Accruing over 12K SoundCloud followers in just two years, DNNYD sets his electro house sound apart with out of the box remixes and stadium-status originals.
