ARMIN VAN BUUREN LAUNCHES SUMMER ANTHEM ‘SUNNY DAYS’ (FEAT. JOSH CUMBEE)

AND MUSIC VIDEO

While pop predecessor ‘I Need You’ keeps going strong around the world, Armin van Buuren has already launched the smash single’s follow-up and its official music video. Both ‘Sunny Days’, which features L.A.-based singer-songwriter Josh Cumbee, and the music video, which was shot in Italy, have been released today on Amsterdam-based record label Armada Music.

Radiant, upbeat and more addictive than the caresses of a hot summer sun. Those three things capture the essence of Armin van Buuren’s brand-new single. Representing a piece of summer that never fails to bring a smile to your face, ‘Sunny Days’ features the warm vocals of Josh Cumbee, mesmerizing guitar play and delightful vibes that dance music enthusiasts the world over just have to indulge in. Whereas the song itself was written over the course of a vibrant multi-day studio session in Los Angeles, the music video of ‘Sunny Days’ was shot at a sun-laden sweet spot in Italy.

“Sunny Days” was inspired by summer and all the great things that happen this time of year. So many bright days, warm nights and some of the best dance music festivals take place during these months. I hope all fans will enjoy it as much as Josh and I do!,” Armin says.

‘I Need You’, Armin van Buuren’s collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Fernando Garibay and singer Olaf Blackwood, is the song ‘Sunny Days’ aims to build on. It saw its release on Armada Music at the start of this year and has since racked up more than 25 million streams on Spotify alone, all the while topping the Mediabase Dance Charts for several weeks. It’s up to ‘Sunny Days’ to match or even surpass those brilliant achievements.

Steve Aoki Announces "Kolony," Debuts Tracklist and Single “Night Call” with Migos and Lil Yachty

steve aoki edm

Grammy-nominated DJ, record producer, restauranteur, fashion and music executive, Steve Aoki unveils his upcoming album Steve Aoki Presents Kolony, an amalgamation of party-cranking tracks that stretch across the boundaries between EDM and rap music, landing on something in between and adding supplemental flavor. The project, due for release July 21 via Dim Mak Records / Ultra Records, marks Aoki’s first full turn into rap music, with nearly 10 years of hip-hop collaborations, which he describes as “bridging the gap” between genres and is stacked with hard-hitting rhymes from some of the most prominent lyricists today, including Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Migos, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, ILOVEMAKONNEN, T Pain, and more.

“When I was in the studio working on this project or a song with someone that made it to the album, they brought their own crew, and I'd turn around and be like, ‘this squad is like a colony,’” explains Aoki of the title. “We're like a colony, because it just felt like the energy in the room was more vibrant. It was a lot of energy from people flowing from the studio, and I loved that think tank, that group collaboration, and spirit.”

“Night Call” serves as a standout on the Kolony tracklist and is the product of mutual support between Aoki and rap’s hottest trio Migos, recorded in their ATL studio and featuring Yachty on the off chance of dropping by during the session. Steve debuted the hip-hop record back in May in front of 25,000 people at Austin's JMBLYA festival.

Steve Aoki is a two-time Grammy-nominated electronic dance music superstar who stands as one of pop music's most tireless multi-hyphenates. One of the Top 50 artists in the world on Spotify, Aoki has continuously established himself as one of music’s most notable names and faces, boasting an illustrious catalog with chart-topping hits. This past year, his latest single with Louis Tomlinson of One Direction fame, "Just Hold On," reached #1 iTunes overall in 43 countries including the UK, and #1 iTunes Dance in 50 countries including the US. Aoki also earned his latest Grammy nomination this past year for the Best Music Film category via his Netflix original documentary I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, which chronicles his fast-paced life as a DJ/producer and offers fans a firsthand look into his world. The film debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival last spring to a sold-out audience.

In 1996, Steve Aoki founded DIM MAK and developed it into an influential independent record label and music lifestyle brand. Responsible for launching the careers of seminal acts such as Bloc Party, The Bloody Beetroots, The Chainsmokers, Deorro, Keys N Krates and countless others, the independently owned DIM MAK has consistently pushed new musical movements via its staunch DIY ethos. With a back catalog hundreds of records deep, a history of legendary live events, and a fully formed clothing line, Dim Mak continues its global mission of promoting boundary-pushing music and culture ‘by any means necessary.

IMAGINE MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES COMPLETE LINEUP FOR 4TH ANNUAL EVENT IN ATLANTA

IMAGINE MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES COMPLETE LINEUP FOR 4TH ANNUAL EVENT IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA, SEPTEMBER 22-24, 2017

After dropping a first phase lineup that would exceed most other festival’s full rosters, the three-day music and camping festival is releasing the next round of performers for its 2017 event. Returning to Atlanta Motor Speedway in Atlanta, Georgia on September 22 through 24, 2017, Imagine has put an exclamation point on its performer lineup with a mix of new heavyweights, including:

Big Gigantic:  Perennial fan favorites, Big G, has made a name for themselves by pairing electronic beats with their signature live saxophone and drums. Tracks from their latest release, last year’s Brighter Future that included a bevy of collaborators, is currently getting the remix treatment from acts like Luca Lush, Kasbo and Naderi.

STS9:  Originally from Georgia and affectionately known to fans simply as “Tribe”, this tight knit group of electronic rock instrumentalists with a meteoric rise to fame, is now nearly 20 years into their illustrious career. Perfecting their self-described “post-rock dance music” through live rock instrumentation on one of their many tours, STS9 is one of the top-grossing live acts globally.

Claude VonStroke:  A producer obsessed with the cross-pollination of genres, Claude VonStroke has made a name for himself as a house and techno pioneer with the chops to craft pristine, albeit laid-back remixes. This year, as the owner of Dirtybird Records, VonStroke will be joined by Shiba San, Will Clarke, Ciszak and Dateless on the label’s branded stage at Imagine.

G Jones:  A favorite of the underground bass scene, G Jones has emerged as a staple on the festival circuit having played such notables as Bonnaroo, Euphoria, Camp Bisco and more. His unique blend of distorted bass and trip visuals make for one of the more energetic shows on the circuit.

Illenium:  As a relative newbie to the game, Illenium has taken big strides since the release of his debut Ashes in 2016, having remixed Dawn Golden, ODESZA and Oh Wonder, amongst others.

NGHTMRE:  Originally a trap and house producer, NGHTMRE released an eponymous EP in 2016- considered by many to be one of the top dance/electronic contributions of the year. The recently released “End of the Night” is a collaboration with Ghastly that is an epic example of what to expect at Imagine.

Additional artists new to the lineup include: Ciszak; Dateless; Hippie Sabotage; and The Funk Hunters, as well as local talent: Alex Lucas; Bandikook; Blunts & Blondes; Corey Von Waters; Daddydough; Daniels Jack; Deep Technicians; Devious; Domii; Exit 9; Flats Stanlie (theUntz Winner); Higher Learning; Jordan Gervais; Kevin Flum; Lucidea; LYFTD (theUntz Winner); Organik; Riven; Robbie Dude; Sejva; Space Kadet; Stranger Candy; Sylo; Teriyaki Noize; White Rhino; Yuki; and Zen Selekta. Imagine will be returning to Atlanta Motor Speedway this September 22-24, 2017 for the fourth edition of the festival. The return to the venue means fans can expect plenty of upgrades, based in large part on feedback from its 2016 attendees. Expanded water stations, camping upgrades, improved VIP areas, shade and charging stations, food options, dancers, art, workshops, the return of the Imagine splash pool and of course an even bigger and better lineup.

As one of the country’s last remaining independent festivals, Imagine creates an all-encompassing, 360-degree sensory experience that blends music, circus troupes, performers, dancers, art, workshops, classes and more.

Ultra Naté and Quentin Harris team up on Black Stereo Faith project + album

ultra nate quentin harris black stereo faith

House Music fans, we’ve got a treat for you. The genesis of Black Stereo Faith; a project 10 years in the making from house music legends Ultra Naté and Quentin Harris.

Black Stereo Faith’s album harkens back to the unvarnished and underground feel of Ultra Naté’s acclaimed 1990 debut, Blue Notes in The Basement. A vibey, unapologetically loose amalgam of R&B, house, rock and electronics highlighting multi-instrumentalist wunderkind Quentin Harris’ production and arrangement skills alongside Ultra’s passionate vocal stylings and delivery.

The songs, pure class from start to finish. There’s the slap bass gospel inspired house of “SNL,” the theatrical “Stay,” the italodisco / Moroder-esque “Tears,” the New Wave influence of “Transformation,” the wild electroclash-era cover of Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy (Touch This Skin),” the silky smooth vocals of “Hey,” the 70’s disco-funk of “Taking Me High,” the powerful and rock infused “Lil Miss Baby,” the tougher than nails pop dance of “Life,” the uplifting and liberating “Luv 2 Bee,” the dance-meets-classical music clash of “Give It 2 U,” and finally, the theatrical dance rock hybrid “All The Money.” Black Stereo Faith is unlike anything on the market right now and certainly like you’ve never heard Ultra Naté or Quentin Harris before.

“I think the most important thing to us was to not limit or restrain ourselves with worries over where music is at this particular moment. When we were putting the initial ideas together I would just fish through everything and anything I liked as a jumpoff point. Pink Floyd, Pointer Sisters, Nine Inch Nails, Madonna, Timbaland, Chic, Tammi Terrell, Eurythmics, The Go-Go’s, Fleetwood Mac, Frankie Knuckles, The Stones, Kate Bush, Earth, Wind and Fire, Sinead O’Connor, Soft Cell, anything that moved me. The great thing about Quentin and what we were doing is that he was open and excited about all of it - no matter how quirky and left of center the idea. I think most listeners are music lovers and open to whatever makes them feel.” - Ultra Naté

“From the moment we started we had no rules with the kind of music we were making on this record. I didn’t feel any kind of pressure to make things this way or that way. We made whatever we were inspired by. Even with all the different genres we touch on from song to song, if you listen to Black Stereo Faith cohesively it all makes sense together. It’s all encompassing of dance music from rock to disco to urban. It’s not a one trick pony…” - Quentin Harris

The release of Black Stereo Faith coincides with the 20th anniversary of the release of Ultra Naté’s all-time classic #1 hit, “Free” which was named by Billboard as one of the top Dance Club Songs of all time. Ultra Naté was also named by Billboard as the #12 top dance artist of all time.

Those in or who are planning to be in NYC on Saturday, July 8th are welcome to join Black Stereo Faith for their debut DJ performance as part of  Silent Disco at Lincoln Center NYC for Midsummer Night Swing: Nu Disco Edition.
