Max Styler Shines On “Show U How” Feat. KARRA

max styler dim mak show u how edm

Young Dim Mak protégé Max Styler is on a fearless conquest across the genre spectrum. His latest, “Show U How,” debuts a future bass sound that’s stacked with trickling ear candy. While songstress KARRA coats the record with a standout melody, Styler splashes it with bouncing chord progressions and reverberating trap kicks.

“Show U How” is the producer’s latest in a persistent string of releases this spring. It follows official Dim Mak singles “Fly,” his collaboration with graves, and “Without U (feat. Gabriela Geneva),” the later recently featured on UZ’s 2016 WorldTour Promo Mix. His signature glossed-out trap sound has also manifested in two attention-grabbing free downloads – The Felmax collaboration “The First” and a remix of Baauer’s “Kung Fu (Feat. Pusha T & Future)”, which EDM.com highlighted as a “killer remix you should be bumping right now.”

Outside of the studio, Max has been touring nonstop. He blessed the stage at Dim Mak 20th Anniversary parties in both Miami and Atlanta, threw down at our Exchange LA takeover, and recently supported Steve Aoki in Reno, Mexico City, and at Harvard University.

Since inking with Dim Mak, Styler has been commissioned on official remixes for the likes of Steve Aoki, Borgore, Torro Torro, MAKJ, Lil Jon and more. His debut Aftershock EP initially put him on the map as one to look out for in 2015 – that prophecy reaching into this year as he lands major support from super-DJ’s like Zedd, David Guetta, DJ Snake, Diplo, and Laidback Luke.

Swanky Tunes Links With Far East Movement on “Entertain Us”

entertain us far east movement swanky tunes

Far East Movement squads up with Swanky Tunes for the gargantuan electro house tune “Entertain Us.” Recently premiered by Billboard, the “dance floor magnet” sees the groups invading the airwaves with a surge of infectious club-bound energy, dark buzzing synths and crisp vocal commands opposite a gripping rollercoaster melody. In conjunction with the release, the LA troupe and Russian trio invite you to participate in a cyber-world fantasy via their official music video for “Entertain Us.” Observe from the perspective of each eccentric player as his ninja persona battles to its digital destruction.

Drawing inspiration from their home base in LA’s Koreatown, Far East Movement (Kev Nish, Prohgress, and DJ Virman) have seamlessly intertwined pop, EDM and hip-hop into a unique pan-global sound that resonates with millions around the world. Their 2010 platinum-selling hit “Like A G6” from Free Wired was a viral sensation; becoming the first-ever Billboard Hot 100 #1 single by Asian-American artists. Dirty Bass, the follow-up album, spawned four singles that reached the Top 10 Pop Chart globally, including “Live My Life (feat Justin Bieber).” For a group that has collaborated with artists as diverse as Bruno Mars, Tyga, Soulja Boy, and Bingo Players, the partnership with Swanky Tunes comes naturally.

Hot off a brand new mix for Diplo & Friends on BBC Radio 1, Swanky Tunes (Vadim Shpak, Dmitry Burykin, Stanislav Zaytsev) continue to showcase innovative flair and rock ears, bodies and crowds around world. Recently shortlisted on DJ Mag’s coveted Top 100 DJs of 2015, the Russian trio has delivered a dozen Beatport Top 10 singles throughout their enviable career. Like FM, they are no strangers to collaborations -- Stadium grand slams like their single with Kaskade “No One Knows Who We Are (feat Lights)” and “Fire In Our Hearts” with C. Todd Nielson have reached as high as Beatport Progressive’s #3 and #4 spots respectively, while “Far From Home” was included on Armada’s Best of 2015 compilation, which hit #1 across Beatport’s Progressive, Electro and Trance charts. Last year the trio unloaded two monster singles on Dim Mak, “Skin & Bones” and “Wherever U Go,” with the later surpassing 3 Million Spotify streams.

JOHN DIGWEED – “LIVE IN MONTREAL” SIX CD SET OUT NOW

john digweed live in montreal

With an unmatched caliber, style, and ability to construct mesmeric DJ sets, John Digweed has more than rightfully solidified his name into underground music’s illustrious hall of fame. Digweed’s ‘Live In’ compilations have reaffirmed and set the bench mark as to how a set should be performed, and now he proudly announces his latest release in this remarkable series recorded live from the iconic Stereo club in Montreal.

I have had the pleasure of playing at Stereo for many years, throughout of all its DJ booth changes and refurbishments but the one thing that has always been a constant is the quality of the sound system and also the fact that they allow DJ’s to play marathon sets on a perfect set up – John Digweed

Intricately captured over six CD’s, Live In Montreal showcases Digweed’s un-paralleled repertoire of dance music’s most thrilling releases fusing together elements of all subgenres from techno to deep house, a theme that runs so elegantly through his own Bedrock Records releases. It is without question that there is a fine art form to performing a marathon DJ set, a trait that few artists posses however John Digweed has truly perfected this ability. Head of programming at Stereo and established DJ himself Nadir Agha, better known as Ostrich perfectly describes this unforgettable performance in Montreal: “Masterful, meticulous and flawless are words to accurately describe John Digweed as a DJ. Much like a hypnotist uses his voice and a puppeteer manipulates his marionettes, Digweed had the room under a spell and dancing up a storm till the end.”

Featuring a host of underground music’s most sought after names such as Pan-Pot, Damian Lazarus, and Guy J, Live In Montreal drives forward and builds upon the success of the previous release which was recorded at live at South Beach. Each compilation is a magnificent demonstration of how music lovers should embrace and experience a marathon DJ set. Drawing similarities with how a narrator delicately sets the tone for a novel whilst starting to pick up the pace as the story progresses,Digweed opens his set with an ambient collection of melodic cuts and transitions with the likes of Esteban Adame's ‘Rise and Shine’ and ‘Tame’ from Recondite.

The vibe from the first few feet on the dance floor was electric so I knew this was going to be a very special night/morning. Starting off with beatless and ambient tracks I really wanted to set the mood for an extended set and as there was no rush and no cut off point, it created the perfect environment to build a musical curve and coax the crowd onto the dance floor” says John Digweed.

As the recording from this outstanding eleven-hour performance proceeds, Digweed carries the listeners out of the realms of ambience into a heavier and more driving techno arrangement highlighted by Tigerskin’s ‘Hippies’ and Drumcode boss Adam Beyer’s ‘What You Need’. Perfectly weaving together track after track throughout each of the CD’s, Live In Montreal marks and captures yet another momentous showcase of one of John Digweed’s finest performances to date.

I hope you enjoy this CD which I think really captures a proper extended set from myself. I would like to thank all the staff at Stereo for their passion and vision for putting on the best quality nights but most of all to the crowd who really inspired me to play for so long on that great system” – John Digweed.

“Live In Montreal” is out now through Bedrock Records.
