Prepping for Doggies on the Catwalk 2017

I walked into Nars, Les Copains, Tod's Theory, Monck Mason, Louboutin, Alice + Olivia, Canali, Planet Blue and Kit and Ace yesterday, Saturday April 8. I wasn't shopping but I was on a mission. But let's back this up first. [My] day started with a visit to doggie couture boutique Bark Fifth Ave. It's located in Buckhead and the showroom is a designer hotspot for all things canine. Owner, Ashley Daniele is walking in Doggies on the Catwalk and threw a "Pawty" to raise funds for Canine Assistants. She served "bark-tinis' for the pups and bubbles for her guests.

My partner, Alex Page, who is also waking in Doggies on the Catwalk and is its co-chair, was with me. From Bark Fifth Ave, Alex and I headed over to The Shops Buckhead. Our goal was to visit all the brands who've partner with me for the event. We perused the showrooms and there are some very fabulous clothes in all of them! Looking through it all gives me a better idea about the runway theme and line up.

It's going to be a great runway with 20+ models and over 40 looks! This is the biggest runway show to date for Doggies on the Catwalk. [And if I'm excited] YOU should be too! Tickets are selling fast and they are only $50. Buy them HERE and see you on May 6, 2017!

Ralph Lauren Shuts Down Its Flagship Fifth Avenue Store

Unfortunately negative financial reports continue for Ralph Lauren. The fashion house will be closing its Polo Ralph Lauren flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York. This is happening as a part of Ralph Lauren's "Way Forward Plan" which is set to conclude by the end of March 2018. It was introduced by former chief executive Stefan Larsson last year. With this plan, there is an expectation of about $140 million USD in "annual cost savings." Although these changes will cost the company about $370 million USD, mostly from employee severance, lease termination fees and inventory costs.

CFO Jane Neilson, believes that shifting to a new digital platform will allow the company to create a "best-in-class solution" more efficiently in all of their markets around the world.

A New CEO of Balmain Has Been Appointed

A New CEO of Balmain Has Been Appointed

Balmain names Massimo Piombini as chief executive officer after the exit of Emmanuel Diemoz. This next step signals the next chapter in planned development as a global leader in luxury goods.

Piombini was already a member of the Balmain board of directors and was previously worldwide commercial director of Valentino SpA, which was also owned by Mayhoola for Investments like Balmain.

Piombini and creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing plan to work together to speed expansion of its global store network and to expand its product offerings. Rousteing has indicated that the brand would modify its aesthetic to reach a wider customer base without altering its luxury positioning. The idea is to rethink casual luxury and to bring more denim, jersey and knitwear to the collection.

Handmade by Hunter Brookes

I use "Face Dirt" by Hunter Brookes in the shower daily - my skin has the healthiest glow. I recently met Hunter Brookes founder/creator Chandler Gongloff and spoke with her about her product while visiting her Charleston home. Watch video and you might be hooked (like me) by the time it's over.

Help Animals in Need With Your Old Mascara Wands

Your favorite mascara dries out, now what? Your first reaction might be to throw it away, but think again. You can now put your old mascara wands to good use and the best part, it benefits animals!

The Appalachian Wildlife Refuge in North Carolina has asked for donations before the opening of a new facility for injured and orphaned animals. Among these items includes clean mascara wands. They are extremely useful to help remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of animals and this is because the bristles are so close together. In order to clean the wands, simply run them under hot water, clean them with soap and mail them to the Appalachian Wild address.
