Discover Atlantic Station’s Three Walkable Tiny Doors

Atlantic Station, home to Tiny Doors ATL Studio, welcomed its third Tiny Door, Door 25, on Saturday, July 15, 2023. The 30363 neighborhood is the only Atlanta neighborhood with three Tiny Doors all within walking distance of each other. Visitors can explore Door 21 on the Atlantic Green, Door 22 on the ivy wall across from Publix and Door 25 on Eclipse Pond Bridge. All three doors reflect the Heart of Atlanta’s vibrant community and culture showcasing the breadth of what Atlantic Station has to offer.

Since 2014 Tiny Doors ATL has sparked a creative revolution in Atlanta by bringing big wonder to tiny spaces. Inspired by street art conversations in Atlanta, Karen Anderson Singer, aka Tiny Doors ATL, began creating custom installations that celebrate, reflect and respect their surrounding communities. Singer was a featured TEDx speaker, has appeared on “CBS Sunday Morning,” has been included in Georgia Trend Magazine’s “40 under 40” list and is a nine-year recipient of the competitive Art on the Atlanta BeltLine grant. In April 2020, Atlantic Station and Tiny Doors ATL came together to give this beloved public art project a home as the Artist-in-Residence with a studio on Atlantic Drive.

“Tiny Doors ATL is an institution, a part of the fabric of Atlanta, making it the perfect complement to our unique and accessible community,” said Starr Cumming, Retail Director of Hines, the Managing agency for Atlantic Station. “When we welcomed Tiny Doors ATL three years ago as our artist-in-residence, we were excited for what the studio would bring to Atlantic Station, but we never imagined the creative impact Karen and the three tiny doors would have on our neighborhood.”

Each door mirrors the diverse elements of Atlantic Station and furthers the mission of using art to connect the community. It all started shortly after Tiny Doors ATL found a home at Atlantic Station with the installation of Tiny Door 21 in October 2020. Just a block away from the Tiny Doors ATL Studio, Tiny Door 21 resides on the Atlantic Green and reflects the picturesque Atlanta skyline, positioning Atlantic Station as the heart of it all. The second Tiny Door at Atlantic Station was installed in November 2021 on Atlantic Drive, the same street as the Tiny Doors ATL Studio. Door 22, located on the ivy wall across the street from Publix, speaks to the history of Atlantic Station and its thoughtful environment-first design. The third and most recent Tiny Door, Door 25 on Eclipse Pond Bridge, made Atlantic Station the only neighborhood with three walkable and accessible tiny doors and serves as a place where art, nature and community connect. Doors 21 and 22 are equipped with augmented reality enabling visitors to embark on an interactive experience and Door 25 has exciting AR in the works. To view the AR for Doors 21 and 22, open the Tiny Doors ATL Instagram page, tap the star symbols in the middle of the screen, select the door filter that matches your door and point it at the door for an immersive adventure.

“My experience at Atlantic Station has shaped how I have implemented the three tiny doors,” said Singer. “I was initially drawn to Atlantic Station for its accessibility and diverse offerings, but I soon discovered even more aspects that make it unique. I created Tiny Doors ATL to bring joy and meet people in an unexpected way, and Atlantic Station embodies that idea making it the perfect location for three walkable tiny doors.”

The 1,541-square-foot Tiny Doors ATL Studio on Atlantic Drive is where Karen Anderson Singer’s 7-inch Tiny Door creations come to life. Every third Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Tiny Doors ATL hosts an open studio where the community can see works in progress, shop exclusive Tiny Doors merch, see the only Tiny Key to the City and view the retired door gallery.
