Haider Ackermann Fall 2015 Menswear

Haider Ackermann presented a show befitting an avant- garde collection. Rather than "runway" the models made their entrance to a standing-room filled space and then hung out in another room where guests could get up close to the models. I like the balance of scale and proportion within the looks, from fitted to over-sized. But what interests me most of the rocker meets bohemian-ish collection is Ackermann's delicious use of jewel toned fabrics. So rich.

CHANEL Spring 2015

Uncle Karl took to the streets to protest women's lib for Spring 2015. It was a very stylish spectacle. (Last season Chanel went grocery shopping, remember that?!) I am all for showmanship, I love it, but what about the clothes? I was underwhelmed by the first grouping of tweeds. Dare I say they felt (a little) frumpy? But hey, if you're going to be frumpy, why not in Chanel! The black and white pieces towards the end of the collection were my favorites. And there were some pretty fab caplets and coats of varying lengths.

POP! 6 Ways to Incorporate Color Into Your Look This Fall

As summer simmers down and fall takes its turn, misguided fashionistas everywhere are ditching their colorful pastels and flirty frocks for neutral hues and dark layers. You may have to let go of your bikini and golden tan once the seasons change, but don't you dare turn away from color this fall. Here are six ways to go bold and bright with an autumn twist.

Designer Handbag

Congratulations to me: Starting a new job is like the first day of school. It's nerve-racking yet exciting, and it's the perfect excuse to buy new clothes. To really make a statement on the first day, a professional gal needs a brand-new designer tote bag. Yes, designer, because you deserve to indulge in luxury as a reward to yourself. A leather Coach tote in loganberry or purple iris will colorfully complement your fresh fall wardrobe and stylishly carry your tablet, Moleskine notebook and backup beauty supplies.

Ankle Booties

Fall streetwear: Trade in summer's high wedges and slingback flat sandals for booties in hot autumn hues like rust, teal, olive or mustard. Ankle booties are a versatile fashion piece that can be totally casual or très chic. Pair crimson-colored booties with leather skinnies and a noir blazer to create a sultry look for late-night drinks. Meeting up with girlfriends for a Saturday lunch? Accent rolled slouchy boyfriend jeans and an oversized sweater with striking cobalt booties.

Smock Dress

Alfresco affair: Every girl deserves to shine every now and again, but birthdays only come once a year. If you're in the mood to be in the spotlight, play hostess as the star of your own party. Turn your event into an intimate outdoor soiree, like a backyard bohemian garden get-together or rooftop dinner party. Since you're the leading lady, you'll need to don a knockout outfit. Bright print mashups and bold colors are de rigueur, even post-summertime. Throw on tights and either knee-high or combat boots to autumn-ize the look.

Eyeshadow

Be fierce: 'Tis the season to eat, drink and sleep pumpkin everything, so why not incorporate pumpkin into your eye makeup? Stylist Janice Daoud tells TotalBeauty.com that orange-based eye shadow can make blue eyes pop and accentuate brown eyes, too. Daoud recommends creamsicle shades for fair skin tones, coral hues for medium skin tones and bright tangerine for darker skin tones. Neutralize the rest of the face with nude colors, and make sure the colors of your clothes and accessories don't compete, either.

Hair Color

Change with the season: Enhance your hair color to match the changing colors of the fall foliage. Marie Claire featured Jessica Biel's honey-toned locks and Olivia Palermo's glossy mahogany mane. For a more subtle change, warm yellow-blonde hair with golden highlights or color brunette layers with a rich rustic red. A sassy new 'do will make you feel like an audacious beauty who isn't afraid to take risks.

Mix & Match

Casual glam: Even fashionistas like to kick it casual and keep it comfy. Look super cute while keeping it low key by wearing a striped three-length tee or classic houndstooth sweater. Don't hesitate to mix and match stripes and houndstooth patterns with floral prints, either. Any true fashionista knows that rules are meant to be broken.

Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Fall 2013

jean-paul-gaultier-couture-paris-fashionado

It was classic Gaultier: a thematic runway with a playful mix of inherently french design and tongue-in-cheek humor. "Big cat" animal prints, in luxurious fabrics, ruled the "catwalk" for the

Jean Paul Gaultier

Fall 2013 Couture Collection where "Woman as Predator" reigned.

Supermodel Christy Turlington for PRADA Fall 2013

Christy Turlington Prada AW Campaign
Christy Turlington Prada AW Campaign

"Supermodel" is a loosely used term these days. I'm guilty of it myself even though I know better. Well, today, I can happily say Supermodel when referring to this industry icon because she was one of the originals [and my favorite!!]

Christy Turlington. I've been a fan since the '90s. SO I am thrilled to see Mrs. Ed Burns, Supermodel, the nice one, starring in

Prada's

fall-winter ad campaign for 2013. Shot be renown photographer,

Steven Meisel

, Christy is joined by veterans and newcomers,

Freja Beha Erichsen

Amanda Murphy, Fei Fei Sun, Catherine McNeil

and

Kristine Forseth

. The scene is stark and harshly lit; the clothing impeccable and the hair, wet... not too crazy about that.

BARNEYS Co-Op Fall Fashion Glam-Slam

by L. B.

This past Friday, E. Vincent Martinez and Caren West of Caren West PR had a sequin, fur, and fun-filled play-date at the Barney’s Co-Op in Phipps Plaza. Between oooh-ing and aww-ing over the spectac Barney’s 25th anniversary items and figuring out just how to undress the famous blue mannequins (the trick? lift the arms UP and then out-who knew?) a handful of KILLER

fall/winter

looks were styled.

The result of the Friday glam-slam= eight impeccably styled blue mannequins.

Take a look:

Vincent and Caren pulled this stunning 3.1 Phillip Lim dress for the first look (and this dress happens to be one of the 25th anniversary items)! An added bonus: true to 3.1 Phillip Lim form, this dress has pockets! How convenient, right? We decided to pair the dress with a sturdy Alexander Wang purse, spike-y Fallon bracelets, and an Annie Costello Brown bracelet that really popped.

The next look featured a Helmut Lang top, Helmut Lang leggings, an Annie Costello Brown necklace, a stunning Sissirossi green bag that Caren quickly became obsessed with, and pair of Ray Ban aviators. So casual, so chic.

Next up was a gorg Isabel Marant top paired with the same Helmut Lang leggings and two gold Aesa necklaces. We loved the way the two necklaces of differing lengths complemented each other.

I’ve been pining for this structured Alexander Wang handbag for a couple of weeks, so I was thrilled when Vincent pulled it for this look. And it

does

look excellent next to this smokin’ Helmut Lang jacket. Girlfriend is workin’ it!

Vincent and Caren’s next outfit featured this sophisticated-yet-fun Forget Me Not scarf with a L’angence jacket, Helmut Lang black top, and Etten Eller necklace. I was tempted to pluck the jacket right off of the mannequin to keep for myself, but I refrained...

The minute I walked into the store I

knew

this fab Vince sequin top was a must-feature. Suffice it to say that I now have a full-blown obsession with this sequined-beauty. In a stroke of fashion-genius, Vincent grabbed this amazing faux-fur Burning Torch jacket. On bottom: a pair of light-washed R13 jeans that added a touch of casualness. Side note: the Barney’s Co-Op has one of THE best denim bars in Atlanta- you pretty much owe it to yourself to go check it out!

thom-browne-rag-bone-andrew-wicker-liz-bloeser-barneys-coop-atlanta-fashionado

Now, on to mens apparel! We adored this cozy Thom Browne sweater, paired with a matching Thom Browne scarf and undershirt. To top off the look, our photographer,

Andrew Wicker

, suggested this Rag & Bone hat that we all agreed really pulled the outfit together. The look also features True Indigo Cone Mills denim and Fiorentini + Baker boots.

--- If you’re a denim-on-denim fan (like myself) then you DIE for this next look, I’m sure! Denim shirt, red undershirt, and jeans are all by Levi Vintage Collection, and the messenger bag is by Will Leather. Yes, please!

My personal fave?

The sequin-and-fur get-up. Love the casual light-washed denim with the blingin’ top and glam fur. Something tells me that somewhere,  Rachel Zoe is smiling...
