The short film is a very edgy presentation of the Givenchy 2013 spring/summer line. [The video] It's abrupt, modern, anything but relaxing, confusing but way more compelling and visual than Brad Pitt's Chanel vid... High fashion, tattoos, drugs, religious and homoerotic references and a post-apocalyptic music score... Givenchy...

SAG Awards Best & Worst Dressed

Screen Actors Guild

recognize one another for excellence in film and tv or in other words, one very big and fancy popularity contest, came and went in LA yesterday. For many of us the action began on the red carpet. My favorite look was

January Jones

in a black and white, high-collared Prabal Gurung gown. Her punk mullet, reminiscent of Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, offered the perfect edgy hairstyle. January Jones took a risk and won!

The structured corset with the lacy dress was a chic combination for Kerry Washington. Her hair and styling was on the mark too.

Love this Dior dress. Marion Cotillard was so snobbishly  proud to be French , starring in a French film and wearing French couture on the red carpet. She looked c'est magnifique even if she wasn't feeling it. [She was under the weather.]

Everything about Anne Hathaway is perfect. She knows how to dress, how to style and how to pose. She's on trend with the sheer and looks like a modern day Audrey Hepburn.

As you know, Julianne Moore is one of my favorites! Though I liked her Tom Ford Emmy dress better, she still nailed it in Chanel Couture at the SAG Awards.

Something is not right here. There is something off about Naya Rivera in this gown. Maybe its too much dress for her? Or maybe it's the color? The hairstyling is wrong, too flat and she needs make-up.

Uh! This is so bad I didn't bother finding who was the designer of the dress. My guess, Lea Michele found it in the prom and bridesmaid section of a Goodwill store.

Claire Danes in this beautiful Givenchy dress was similar to her acceptance speech, which was scattered, messy, unprepared and all over the place. She's got the height and beauty to pull off big time fashion but obviously has little interest in doing so.

the FASHION of Fashion Cares

The 20th Anniversary of Jeffrey Fashion Cares was a sensational celebration of life and fashion. JFC founder, Jeffrey Kalinsky has so much to be proud of and thankful for. In a tender, heartfelt welcome, he recognized the hard work and contributions of co-chair Lila Hertz who has chaired the event, passionately and tirelesslyfor ten years. The runway show, which opened with selected looks from special guest designer Joseph Altuzarra, also featured designs from some of the world's top labels [all carried at Jeffrey] such as Lanvin, Givenchy and Dries Van Noten. If I had the power to change one thing about the fashion show, it's that I would have made it in slow motion... it was just that damn good! *Later this week, Style Mag VM will bring you full coverage of the event, including VIP backstage access and a one-on-one with Altuzarra. [For now] I have more than 70 runway  images to share with you from Jeffrey Fashion Cares. Floor length leather fringe, beaded and woven into intricate pattern; mink-trimmed capes and bodices where the fur was meticulously shaved to look and feel like velvet; and cashmere, crepe and sequins contribute to the layers of complexity that make this collection brilliant and breathtaking.

Breaking News: Guest Designer Announced-Jeffrey Fashion Cares

"Jeffrey [Kalinsky] has a talent for finding emerging young designers,"

said an enthusiastic 

Lila Hertz,

Jeffrey Fashion Chair, when I asked her feelings about this year's special guest designer.

At just 28 years old, he's interned for Marc Jacobs, freelanced for Proenza Schouler and worked under Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy.

In 2011 he won the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund and on

Atlanta is very proud to host French born, NY based designer,

Joseph Altuzarra

.

"It was really about mixing it" said Altuzarra about his Fall 2012 Collection. And mixing, flawlessly, he did.

Inspired by Italian comic hero

Corto Maltese

, Altuzarra's collection, like the

Maltese

character, traveled through Moroccan, Indian and French culture.

The global "mix" also came by way of textiles and embellishments. This is where Altuzarra exemplifies artistic genius. He masterfully, never losing sight of balance, proportion and sex appeal, married a plethora of riches.

There were pencil skirts and velvet jackets. Silk cargo pants paired with horsehead-motif sweaters. [His version of] the little black dress, structured and very French. Naval inspired coats in Mongolian lamb and fur...

Chic, leather, thigh-high boots added an edgy sophistication to the runway looks.

And finally, embroidery, Moroccan carpet patterns, patchworks, fringe and dangling coins added to the many layers of an already brilliant and complex collection.

Atlanta AIDS Fund

, which funds HIV/AIDS projects in the metropolitan area and 

Susan G. Komen for the Cure—Greater Atlanta Affiliate

that provides grants to grassroots organizations fighting breast cancer. Last year’s sold-out event raised more than $630,000 with 91 cents out of every dollar going to the beneficiaries.  The event will be held at the American Cancer Society Center, conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, and will feature a pre-show cocktail reception, fashion show, silent and live auctions, and an official after-party.
