Without a doubt, the edgiest runway show at Lincoln Center was the
Falguni
& Shane Peacock
Fall/Winter 2013 collection, which made it one of my favorites. They basically created a 3D effect with their garments by layering rich textiles. Feathers,
beadwork
, leathers, velvets and lace were meticulously presented in a classic silhouette influenced by Art Deco artist
Erte
. Balancing the luxurious softness of the collection with a harder, more powerful edge, the designers created amazing
peplum
shaped bodices out of high polished metal. The juxtaposition of the feminine sensibility with the futuristic corseted accessories
"elevated the super heroine to the next level of
badassery
," according to the designers. They achieved their intentions.
[/caption]The best part of last week's Project Runway: Academy Award winner, Susan Sarandon. The worst part: Susan Sarandon. The challenge was dreadfully boring, thanks Susan! The designers were commissioned to re-design staff uniforms for ping pong social club, SPiN NYC, co-owned by, you guessed it, Susan Sarandon. While I appreciate bringing real-world fashion work to the show, I don't watch Project Runway to be entertained with the practical. I want to see the creative and avant garde. The innovative and brilliant. The triumphs and defeats. Thank goodness that hot male models were thrown in the mix, otherwise I would have totally fallen asleep.

[/caption]Daniel and Layana won the challenge for Team Keeping It Real. The judges also liked Joseph Aaron and Richard's design, especially the graphic print on the front pockets and the holder strap for the ball catcher. I'll agree, it was pretty cool. But the coolness only lasted for 30 seconds... and then we were back to bleh...

I wasn't kidding when I called her "my own little Gossip Girl." Chuck Bass's Empire Hotel roomie on the show, Nate Archibald [played by Chace Crawford] and Emily are at director Michael Bay's Miami home for a fundraising event in the photo above. They have shared, however, a number of NYFW moments in the past. And what do they talk about? One guess, two words... Yup... that's it!

How did Emily and I meet?
At a fashion event, of course! We both attended last year's

. At the after party, I was walking over to say hello to designer Joseph Altuzarra and Emily was coming towards me with a big smile. She said hello, but what made me fall in love with her was when she told me that fashionado was her favorite blog! XOXOX
