The DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll powered by 7UP has a new winner(s). Belgian brothers, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, the first duo to win the annual Poll, were announced at the Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF), before performing in front of tens of thousands of dance music fans.

Commenting on the award, Dimitri and Mike said: “Thank you so much! Since day one we’ve put every bit of energy and time we can into our music and our shows in order to give the fans the greatest experience any DJ could offer. So it’s such an incredible honor to receive this award knowing it’s from the guys that matter most to us.”

The pair moved from No.6 to No.2 in the 2014 DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll. During the past year their dominance in the festival scene has been unrivaled, playing Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, Creamfields, and Mysteryland. All 40,000 tickets for the launch of their ‘Bringing The Madness 3.0’ shows at Belgium's Sportpaleis Antwerpen sold out in under 40 minutes; a feat previously only managed by U2, Madonna, Beyoncé, and Michael Jackson. The pair has also sold out 3 forthcoming UK shows, including London’s O2 Brixton Academy.

With their debut artist album in the making, the pair’s recent hit with Ummet Ozcan, ‘The Hum’, is joined by current single, ‘Higher Place’, featuring Grammy award winner Ne-Yo, the track that’s further shown their crossover status. It spent 6 weeks at the No.1 spot in the Belgian Charts, amassed views in excess of 7 million, and was one of the most worldwide Shazamed tracks at this year’s festivals.

For the third consecutive year, the Top 100 DJs Poll Awards powered by 7UP was held at the two-day Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF); returning for the second time to Amsterdam ArenA, the stadium for Ajax football club.

Interview: MaRLo TomorrowWorld 2015

dj marlo e vincent martinez tomorrowworld fashionado

His beats make you get up and dance, his vocal tracks are "haunting" and powerful and his remix abilities are highly sought-after. Oh, and he's a super nice guy... DJ / Producer (and Australia's #1 Trance DJ) MaRLo shared a few minutes with me during TomorrowWorld to chat about the "MaRLo sound" and what it's like playing large venues. MaRLo lit up when talking about his wife, Jano, who frequently collaborates with him.

ARMIN VAN BUUREN : "Making music is very organic."

One of the most exciting and most anticipated sets at TomorrowWorld is, without a doubt, Armin van Buuren's. He's seasoned, talented, passionate about music and really loves his fans. It was a thrill for me (being a fan myself) to have the opportunity to sit with Armin just hours before his closing set. He had flown in from the west coast earlier in the day and though he should have been quite tired, you wouldn't have known it. Armin was welcoming, friendly and inspiring. We had a candid chat about EDM, the creative process and playing for massive audiences. Armin van Buuren's latest studio album, Embrace, drops October 29th. People Of TomorrowWorld 2015

There is no denying that many TomorrowWorld attendees had it bad, very bad. I was lucky to catch, what was probably one of the last shuttles, at 1:32AM Saturday back to the aLoft or my videographer and I may have been among the thousands stranded. Or gouged by Uber. But, as these photos show, there were many good times to be had at TomorrowWorld. Sending good vibes and energy into the universe...

Interview with DJ ANDREW RAYEL at TomorrowWorld 2015

andrew-rayel-tomorrowworld-fashionado

DJ / Composer Andrew Rayelwho  is signed with Armada Music, Armin Van Buuren's label, played a dynamic set on the first night of TomorrowWorld. Andrew is young, talented and a classically trained pianist - skills that reflect within the complexity of his beats. Ninety minutes before his set, Andrew and I got a chance to sit and chat about TomorrowWorld, his musical sound and performing live. I also teamed up with my friends at Raannt.com to ask Andrew his feelings about trance.

TOMORROWWORLD TIX NOW!

Everything AMAZING you've heard about TomorrowWorld is TRUE! I've been covering TomorrowWorld since day one and it is by far one of the most dynamic and electrifying weekends of the year. The incredible energy that TomorrowWorld brings forth through its attendees and DJs is ridiculously and insanely fabulous. The Main Stage Headliners list, talents like Afrojack, Martin Garrix and Armin Van Buuren, to name just a few, is so impressive that you need to hurry and get your tickets. Last year more than 160K people attended TomorrowWorld and I wouldn't be surprised if that number increases. Yup, it's that GOOD! Eat. Sleep. Rave. Repeat.

PS... take a look at the TomorrowWorld Stages in the slideshow above - You know you want to be there!

Miley Cyrus and her WILD Designer MTV VMA Outfits 2015

I don't know about you, but I love when an awards show host changes outfits many times. Miley Cyrus may take the prize for the most costumes changes ever, at the MTV VMAS! Regardless, she did not disappoint. And though most of her outfits, well, actually all of her outfits, are totally unwearable in public, you have to admit that they were as entertaining as they were crazy! She really had fun with them and it showed. For my label-loving readers, as you know, Miley Cyrus embraces designer fashion so many of her pieces were custom made by Versace, Prada and The Blonds. I loved the tinsel coat by Prada, but my favorite look (believe it or not) was the rainbow dress by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada - so much fun. Only Miley Cyrus could pull off that look (and ALL looks of the night!)
