PIERRE HARDY- MEN SS19 COLLECTION

pierre hardy

The Summer collection introduces a new informal and emancipated elegance articulated around two types of models.

First, a folk spirit is given to lightweight classics developed in supple leathers – often unlined – and mounted on thin leather or rubber soles. Desert boots, “espadrille” slippers and slip-ons refer to a drifting Jack Kerouac look or an unlaced derby evoking a Gyspy Rock Jimmy Hendrix type. These shoes reflect a feeling of travel, wandering, from the Mediterranean Sea to Orient. Black, cobalt blue, Havana and black stripes, kaki … these colors take us to solar places.

The sport models refer to a more urban aesthetic. Two new sneakers, the Vibe and the Trail, play on graphic constructions. Pierre Hardy designs extremely striking models in contrasting tones.

Casual or sporty, these models are often punctuated with colorful lines, whether it’s in black and Havana leather for the dressed models or in overlapped leather bands for the sneakers.

Pierre Hardy defines a new dynamic tempo.

Dior Homme 2018 Sunglasses

Dior Homme releases a new collection of men’s sunglasses that is prepared to stand the test of time. The glasses pair well with the designer, Kris Van Assche’s menswear Collection, extracting from the past to make it relevant to a new generation. The suit dressing combined with the experimentation of streetwear creates a freedom to accessorize.

The selection of metal sunglasses come in different styles:

DiorPressure has an ultra-thin metal frame with a reinterpreted aviator look. DiorTensity is timeless by design. Its square-shaped frame is complemented with a thin Havana acetate that is cut half-framed. DiorMaster is the most dramatic with thick frames contrasting its slim temples. All the sunglasses feature the signature rectangle emblem. Once again, Dior has created a collection that is edgy and fearless.

Thom Browne Spring 2012

Fashion correspondent Tim Blanks called it "surreal assaults on menswear convention." He was describing the latest collection from

Thom Browne

who has certainly become the maestro of  runway theatrics.

If you're coming to be entertained, you got it.

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf

served as the inspiration for the line that featured fringe and pinstripe in an all male cast.

[At the surface] The collection appears insane. I don't think I'll get an argument from you on that. But you have to, absolutely must, dissect each look, piece by piece, to grasp an understanding of Browne's vision. An ascot here, a neck tie there, perfectly tailored (though unfinished) shirts, blazers and coats are hidden beneath layers of overlapping textile and pattern. Frankly, its about time menswear runway met the avant-garde. Its time that these shows became more conceptualized and less ready to wear. Imagination and creativity keeps everything fresh and the audience engaged.
