What do

Project Runway

fans and contestants have in common? WE love to hate team challenges. Last week's episode introduced the first team challenge of the season and paired it up with [yet another] unconventional challenge - a double fashion whammy. Most of them "made it work" while, inevitably, others struggled, a lot, both figuratively and literally. Yoplait was the sponsor and other than paying the big advertising bucks for the tv spot, they really didn't have a place. The designers started the day at Coney Island with Yoplait. "Regular" folk tasted a variety of frozen yogurt flavors which they described using only one word. Later, those words were to serve as the inspiration for the outfit(s). Mood was skipped once again. We love "Swatch." The material for the challenge came from the prizes (stuffed animals, inflatable, hats, etc.) won by the designers playing the carnival games. That was a pretty cool and creative twist. Good job guys. For some.

Disaster on the Runway; disaster on the Runway! Alexander and Justin, you silly queens, WTF is this? I admit, I was surprised to see this nightmare. It's not only "too much" it's also really bad. There is absolutely nothing redeeming about this mess. Nothing flattering. Nothing.

The best thing to happen to Karen was Bradon. She's such a snore. I like the dress. What's stopping me from loving it? Really, do I have to say it? Okay... the nasty, cotton ball of a shoulder pad! WHY? Unless if used as a duster, it serves no function to the dress.

I would like more air time for Designer Jeremy. He's so cute and I love the accent. But while he continues to give us mediocre runway like this, I'm afraid he's gonna get

aufed

. He didn't act alone, of course, Designer Ken shares the blame on this one. This is Project Runway guys, TURN UP the volume!

If this were an "unconventional" prom challenge, this dress would've worked. But it wasn't. Of course, the real problem here is not the dress but the team itself. Sue

AND

... Sandro. To be more specific [as if] crazy Sandro. I tweeted Project Runway to send him back to Russia in exchange for Snowden. Sandro, was rude, opinionated, obnoxious and disrespectful. Not only to Sue, but to everyone, including Tim Gunn. Sandro needs to go away!

Finally! A good dress. Made from stuffed animals, it was fun, quirky, stylish and innovative. A judges favorite. I was surprised and disappointed it didn't win. Alexandria and Dom did an excellent job and worked very well together, as evidenced by their look.

This was the losing design. Miranda and unicorn boy Timothy were paired together, no way was that a coincidence. They did not play nicely in the sandbox. Lots and lots of tears. Too much emotion, in a stupid, immature capacity. Miranda was safe and thank God Timothy and his sustainable ass got sent back to La La Land where he and his misplaced ego and ideals can run free among the rainbows.

Helen and Kate made an unstoppable team. And while this was not my winning pick, I can't dispute it's presence, construction and appeal. Good job ladies.
