Once again, the party won’t stop following Atlanta’s most fashionable charitable fete, Jeffrey Fashion Cares, on Monday, August 27, 2012.  Both patrons of Jeffrey Fashion Cares and the public are invited to take part in the official after party at Opera in Midtown, which begins immediately after the 20th anniversary event at 9 p.m.

With a new theme every year, this year’s post-show bash will be a “Fashion Fair” where a mix of kitsch and glam join forces to provide a night filled with nonstop fun and surprises.  Tickets for the official after party are $150 and available for purchase at jeffreyfashioncares.com. Proceeds from the official after party will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate and Atlanta AIDS Fund (AAF).

Putting county fair chic on the map, the Fashion Fair after party will feature a shoe check upon entry where guests can swap out their stilettos for flip flops, just in case they want to participate in line dancing lessons. Opera’s executive chef Joe Rego, a recent Food Network “Chopped” champion and formerly of South City Kitchen, Sotto Sotto, and Fritti, has put together a menu of complimentary fair friendly eats including boiled peanuts, cotton candy, corn dogs, BBQ, homemade apple, cherry and blueberry pies, and double chocolate brownie bites. Mike Macho, afternoon drive host at KICKS 101.5 FM, will be the master of ceremonies, while DJ Vicki Powell and a live performance by Tom Hill & The Midnight Suns will keep party going as guests sip on frosty brews and signature cocktails. Of course, a country fair wouldn’t be complete without a slew of carnival games, fantastic prizes, and a petting zoo complete with fashionable goats wearing their very best outfits in honor of the 20th anniversary event.

The 20th anniversary of Jeffrey Fashion Cares and its official after party will once again benefit the Atlanta AIDS Fund, which funds HIV/AIDS projects in the metropolitan area and Susan G. Komen for the Cure—Greater Atlanta Affiliate that provides grants to grassroots organizations fighting breast cancer. Last year’s sold-out event raised more than $630,000 with 91 cents out of every dollar going to the beneficiaries.

This year’s event features special guest designer Joseph Altuzarra and features a pre-show cocktail reception, fashion show, and silent and live auctions. The 20th anniversary celebration will begin at 7 p.m. and will be hosted by the Cousins Properties at the American Cancer Society Center in Downtown Atlanta.
