over-the-BIG-top!
/
Life is a circus. And on Monday, August 30, you can be a part of the most fashionable circus in Atlanta.
The highly anticipated, Jeffrey Fashion Cares benefit promised exciting changes this year, and well, they are delivering, big time, or is that Big Top!
First, we received word of the addition of two new Co-Chairs who would be joining the sensational Lila Hertz - they are Louise Sams and Jeffrey McQuithy. Then we learn that the Honorary Chair is none other than a girl's best friend, Spanx's Sara Blakely. Just when you thought things couldn't get any better after the announcement of the new host venue, 12th & Midtown, we are sent over the top with the thrilling news that fashion's golden boys, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, are this year's special guest designers!
Could it get any better? Oh yes indeed!
It has just been made public that Opera will host the after party. That's not all. Fred Schneider of the B 52's is the special guest DJ along with DJ Vicki Powell at his side. There's more. Drag Queens, fire dancers, aerialists, GloAtl and together with personalities Bubba D. Licious and Nicole Paige Brooks round out the over-the-big-top circus theme. The Jeffrey Fashion Cares, after party, under the masterful leadership of Cathy Smith and Bill Kaelin, will surely be the talk of the town. (take Tuesday off!)
There's one more big thing... you can buy tickets to just the after party for $150. This is the first time Jeffrey Fashion Cares has made this offer to the general public. Of course, they prefer you purchase an event ticket and enjoy the entire fashion extravaganza. But its nice to have options.
Over the past 17 years, Jeffrey Fashion Cares has grown into one of the largest combined AIDS and breast cancer benefits in the country, having raised over $9 million. Both the event and after party will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate and Atlanta AIDS Partnership (AAP).

Tickets and patron packages are still available for the 18th annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares, which kicks off at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 30 on the 33rd floor of 12th & Midtown, a new high-rise located at Peachtree and 12th Street. The event, which is hosted by acclaimed retailer Jeffrey Kalinsky, includes a pre-show reception, couture fashion show, and silent and live auctions. Jeffrey Fashion Cares patrons are also invited to attend the official after party at Opera, which is just a short walk from the main event.
