Private Policy Fall 2021 Menswear

For the Fall-Winter 2021 collection, Private Policy brings awareness to the important historical achievement of the nineteenth century Chinese immigrants who build the American railroads and acknowledges the xenophobic feelings of that era, while battling similar issues today as a result of how the COVID-19 pandemic is being perceived as an Asian virus. No longer avoiding the issue, people are speaking up about the past and ongoing racism and prejudice against Asian immigrants. Upcoming generations will not allow these microaggressions continue within the community. Private Policy designers Haoran Li and Siying Qu said, “Maybe this is the season we can inspire and encourage people to learn about the culture and history.”

This collection has an East meets West fusion with its use of knotted buttons, mandarin collars and utilitarian jackets. Keeping it youthful and very current is its genderless appeal along with modern design elements such as harnesses, bomber jackets and vegan leather overshirts.
