New York City's EXSSV Unleashes “Upper" ft. KARRA
Fresh off his Dim Mak New Noise debut, New York City’s EXSSV links up with rising singer KARRA to release the hybrid vocal trap beast “Upper." Recently premiered by YourEDM, the hard-hitting single arrives after a busy summer for the Run The Trap endorsed 2016 “Artist To Watch.”
EXSSV kicked things off with his official New Noise debut “Hangover (feat. Jitta On The Track).” The single climbed to the #3 spot on Beatport’s Hip-Hop charts and earned support from David Guetta, Dyro and Annie Nightingale, among others. He followed with a standout bootleg remix of A$AP Ferg & Skrillex’shit collaboration “Hungry Ham,” which has been streamed 314K times on Soundcloud in under a month. Most recently, EXSSV contributed an official remix of “Streets” to Autoerotique’s Kids Don’t Care Remix EP, flipping the original on its head in a massive dubstep-influenced rework. He closed out the summer by spinning at Dim Mak’s official Electric Zoo After Party in NYC at Space Ibiza, joining Steve Aoki, ETC! ETC!, 3LAU, Shaun Frank, and Max Styler for a Labor Day Weekend throwdown. Be on the lookout for EXSSV’s forthcoming Quest Mix on Annie Nightingale’s BBC Radio 1 show, airing September 28th.
Joining EXSSV on “Upper” is LA-based vocalist KARRA. She has written and recorded top-lines for heavy-hitters such as Breathe Carolina, Metrik, Gareth Emery, and Dim Mak’s in-house prodigy Max Styler (“Show U How”). Her vocal on JDG and Samual James’ Dim Mak hit “Dynasty (Mumbai)” resonates across festival mainstages to this day.
