Royalty. In excess. And modernized. Balmain used a mixture of military, hip-hop and lounge-wear to make their statement. Much of it is editorial and all of it extravagant. Velvets, leather and cashmere - yes! Make sure and notice the shoes with the gold trimmed soles.

Emma Watson covers ELLE

She's smart, sexy and on the April cover of US ELLE. Emma Watson makes Western chic by wearing a Balmain shirt and calfskin pants. No magic needed to work the camera here. She looks so fresh in all the photos, I love it. But what I love most about Emma Watson is that she valued the importance of a good education by completing her studies at Brown and Oxford.

The child star has grown up with a pretty good sense of herself, though she tells ELLE about her envy towards new emerging actresses:

Balmain MEN Spring 2014

So French. So very French is the Balmain Menswear Spring Collection for 2014. There's a touch of Chanel in some of the jackets and the quilted leathers. The blue and white stripes and the appliqués suggest a nautical influence. The collection pays tribute to renown French singer Serge Gainsbourg though I detect a hint of James Dean within some of the styling. Either way, still very French and très chic.
