Just say NO to NYE!

I did! The last few years I've said NO to the overrated shindigs at clubs, restaurants and hotels. They're just not worth the hassle. And usually don't offer enough bang for your buck! Instead, I've found a better, more rewarding party... with my own family and close friends. I can eat and drink all I want while being around the people that mean the most to me rather than being clusterfucked with the crazies that ring in the New Year! Who wants to be out on the roads with all those lunatics anyway. I tell you, private parties and gatherings are the way to go. My friend and NYFW running mate Emily Chandler Westergreen shares a similar sentiment. She'll be spending NYE with her family as well. In referring to the NYE party goers, Emily put it best, "it's like amateur night," she said. Need I say more?

Jeffrey Fashion Cares Patron Party @ Cucina Asellina

There are many things that the Jeffrey Fashion Cares triple-threat chair team [Lila Hertz, Louise Sams, Jeffrey McQuithy] do well. Keeping secrets is one of them! Oops, I mean, keeping things suspenseful. And they sure did last night at the annual Patron Party. I hit up each one of them for news, including publicist Caren West, and all just smiled with a twinkle in the eye, so I can only imagine how spectacular the August 27th event is going to be! After all, Jeffrey Fashion Cares is celebrating 20 years so I think over-the-top is certainly in order.

The co-Chairs may have been tight-lipped but the patrons weren't. 

I spent a delightful minute or ten with two lovely ladies from Spanx who informed me that Spanx will be stuffing $100 gift cards in this year's gift bags... stuff away, that's sexy! [With an excited smile on her face and an enthusiastic nod, Lila confirmed this to be accurate.]



Cucina Asellina hosted the all-too-fab soiree featuring some of the most fashionable people in town. Who says Atlanta can't dress? It was truly a wonderful evening with a great crowd at the perfect venue.

At this moment they had just greeted guests, thanked sponsors and patrons when Lila made a last minute announcement that's worth dancing over: "Just 10 minutes prior" Lila continued with a grin from ear to ear, "I got a phone call right here at Cucina from Opera confirming their sponsorship and participation." Woohoo! Can we say AFTER PARTY!

For the past two years, the after party, thrown by Cathleen Smith have been hosted at Opera and have featured fire eaters, aerialists and ballroom salsa dancers. Cathleen's parties are events in their own right. Always over the top and I hear that her plans for this year's are just wild. Trust me, I'll be sharing deets asap!
