This spring and summer, music lovers can take advantage of Sunset Sessions - a new, weekly alternative music series at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park. Radio 105.7 and Park Tavern have joined forces to bring Atlantans and visitors alike an incredible lineup of live music from some of today’s most buzz-worthy artists every Sunday for free. Kicking off on April 26 with Bad Suns, The Electric Sons, and Kiev, the new concert series will be held under the spacious, air conditioned Garden Tent, which boasts Piedmont Park and the Midtown Skyline as its backdrop. The free concert series will run through Sunday, September 6, 2015; every show is from 7 to 11 p.m. and guests must be 21+ older to attend. For more information, visit www.parktavern.com.
Located conveniently off of the Atlanta BeltLine, concert goers can enjoy giveaways throughout the concert series, the chance to mingle with Aly, Knox, and Sully from Radio 105.7 Atlanta, specialty seasonal cocktails, house-brews, 1/2 price wine bottles every Wednesday, 1/2 off sushi from 10 p.m. to midnight, 1/2 off tacos (excluding Big Eye Tuna) nightly after 8 p.m., and much more. In art, a bad painting or bad photograph can't be saved with a fancy frame. I suppose the same can be said about music and extravagant videos. Quick, someone tell Lady Gaga that! Her G.U.Y (Girl Under You) video is a mess. How many times do we need to see Gaga play the martyred victim or the heroic warrior or heavenly goddess? But all of this is the least of it. G.U.Y. is like a 7 minute Versace ad OR a RHOBH promo for Bravo and making it worse are the 4 minutes of credits following the first 7. Can we say "I love ME?"
Thank goodness the RHOBH cast wore Pepto-Bismal pink. It helped stomach Andy Cohen's role as Zeus...but, puh-lease, he's a gossiping queen NOT a God. [ ...and from the looks of it, G.U.Y.'s $ugardaddy. So that explains that.]
There's a scene where Jesus, Gandhi and Michael Jackson are resurrected. I have a real problem throwing MJ in that mix. What's he gonna do, offer children Jesus juice?
The video, like the song is a trainwreck. The glorified Versace ad is abrupt, lacks harmony and flow. It's campy, in a bad way.
To end on a positive note, I like the fashion, the Hearst Castle and the dancing.

Bruno Mars crushed any doubts about whether he could rock the Super Bowl halftime show. His performance ranks right up there with some of the best ones in history. Mars, only 28, is one truly amazing and talented entertainer. And stylish! Dressed in Saint Laurent, he belted notes, played drums, danced and motivated a massive audience. He proved that if the talent [and vocals] exists, NO gimmicks are necessary! Props to the
Red Hot Chili Peppers too. I loved how they and Bruno Mars related to one another. That's the power of music.

I can't wait for Super Bowl XLVIII tonight. I mean Bruno Mars; No Super Bowl... actually, I'm not much of a sports fan, surprise, surprise... So Bruno Mars it is! Billboard's Artist of the Year and recent Grammy winner will undoubtedly bring the house (or field) down with his talent, charisma and amazing vocals. He's promising something "unexpected" but I doubt he's referring to a wardrobe malfunction - though some of us wouldn't mind! The Red Hot Chili Peppers are also performing.
