FILA and Premium Goods Strike Gold with the Original Tennis

FILA and Brooklyn-based boutique Premium Goods, have come together to create a golden version of the Original Tennis. The retailer first opened its doors in Brooklyn back in 2002, followed by a space in Houston in 2004. To kick off their 15 year anniversary in 2017, Premium Goods has linked with FILA, on a footwear design that gives a nod to the borough that established them. With Brooklyn in mind, it was clear the Original Tennis silhouette was the perfect choice. Though its known as an iconic tennis shoe, it has adapted other personalities, allowing different walks of life to identify with this style.

The silhouette features an all gold leather upper that sits atop a white midsole and gum outsole. Up close, the premium golden leather offers a metallic look that is sure to turn heads whether you’re walking in the streets of Brooklyn or traveling across the globe. The next time someone poses the question, “Where Brooklyn At,” this can be your new golden answer. Additional design details include dual lace options in navy and biking red hues, which also appear in the logo, collar lining, and back tongue. The collaboration's coolest feature is the insole, which displays the names of Brooklyn neighborhoods like Bushwick, Williamsburg, Park Slope, Coney Island, Bensonhurst, and Bed-Stuy.

The FILA x Premium Goods Original Tennis are available in men’s sizes at both Premium Goods locations. The shoes will retail for $100.

Expand Your Fashion Brand Further With These Tips

how to expand your fashion brand

One of the most difficult – but critical – process of starting a fashion brand is getting it off the ground. The initial launch and the first few months are very important. This is the period that will make or break your fashion label and your products.

There are a number of great tips you can utilize if you want to expand your fashion brand during this period and reach more customers along the way. We are going to review them in this article.

Maintain a Strong Online Presence

The internet is your friend when it comes to launching a new brand. You can reach thousands of potential customers with a relatively low investment. Maintaining a strong online presence is important.

It is best if you start even before the label is launched. Before you start selling fashion items and other products, set up your main website and social media pages. Use these channels to take viewers on a journey behind the scenes. Let them know the steps you are taking to develop the new brand.

You can also use videos as ways of promoting your brand. Don’t just make videos to sell your fashion items; make videos to tell a story (or stories). The audience will be engaged and will recognize your brand much sooner than you think.

Get Closer to Customers

Even when you are making most of your sales online, there is no harm in getting closer to customers offline. One of the best ways to do that is by setting up a shop in shopping centers and areas where your target customers usually shop. Rent a pop up shop and display your best products. You can also take part in indie events or exhibitions.

Renting a pop up shop is very easy. For instance, you can rent a Westfield Pop stand for a week or an entire month – or even an extended period – through the shopping mall’s website. Other shopping centers have similar deals, so don’t hesitate to ask for more information.

The more your brand is seen, the more chance you have of succeeding. You will be able to survive the initial launch period and get some traction with your fashion line for sure.

Expand Your Reach

If you have a marketing budget, use it to reach out to influencers on top social media platforms. Influencers have thousands of followers who are closely watching what their idols are doing. Endorsing these influencers can place your brand in the mind of this audience. Influencer marketing may also lead to direct sales, especially considering that influencers inspire so many of their fans.

Be careful who you associate your brand with though. Knowing the right influencers to work with and maintaining a good brand image are very important too. A good approach to take is by taking a closer look at the target audience you want to reach and choosing influencers based on those insights.

Apply the tips we just discussed in this article and you will be able to get your new fashion label off the ground right away. All you have to do next is innovate to keep interest and traction high.

PUMA ANNOUNCES CARA DELEVINGNE AS THE NEW FACE OF THE ‘DO YOU’ WOMEN’S CAMPAIGN

CARA DELEVINGNE puma fashionado

Global Sports Brand PUMA launches their women’s campaign ‘DO YOU’ which aims to inspire confidence in women everywhere. As part of this campaign, PUMA announces they will be working with international model, actress, and activist Cara Delevingne. She joins PUMA’s growing list of influential female ambassadors including Rihanna, who served as the campaign’s Creative Director.

“To ‘DO YOU’ is to take ownership of yourself and finding the power within that ownership —it's a very powerful statement,” says Cara. “It's about accepting who you are, no matter your faults.  ’DO YOU’ is about finding your truth and sticking to it. I think it's so special because it means something different for everyone.  It specifically encourages people to be themselves.”

Cara embodies the PUMA Woman. She is fearless, always finding new ways to express herself and use her body as a catalyst for conversation. Her unapologetic attitude and inspiring defiance of the status quo will set the tone for this campaign. She leads the pack of strong women appearing in this campaign, including Mimi Staker and Olivia Boisson of the New York City Ballet, German track and field athletes Alexandra Wester and Tatjana Pinto, and Cuban volleyball players Leila Consuelo Ortega Martinez and Lianma Flores Stable.

The campaign was inspired by Rihanna who once said “I dare myself to make things work. I don’t do things for the response or controversy. I just live my life.” The campaign inspires women to stay true to themselves, make their own rules, and never take ‘no’ for an answer. It creates a conversation that encourages women to be confident, motivated, and never willing to compromise on anything from their personal style to their workouts to their life. Given Rihanna’s own belief on this message, it made perfect sense to bring her on board with PUMA to creative direct the campaign featuring Cara.

The ‘DO YOU’ campaign launches this month with a cross-category product assortment dropping through December from PUMA’s Running & Training and Sportstyle collections. Cara will be featured in outdoor advertising, PUMA stores and retailers, and PUMA.com

DIOR Grand Opening at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta

Dior put the "grand" in opening last night as more than 200 guests celebrated Atlanta's first free-standing Dior location at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. Guests were greeted with champagne upon entering the glamorous five-thousand square foot showroom - Moet of course.

Dior curated an exclusive guest list which meant I got to meet new people and make fabulous new friends. This was one of the best, most chic boutique openings I've attended. Dior seamlessly balanced a perfect evening of shopping and celebration. A DJ kept things moving and Moet kept flowing while guests discreetly stacked up shoes, bags and accessories in private VIP rooms. They were whisked away for fittings and then retuned to the party. Very classy, but I would expect no less from Dior.

Style South brings Fashion Week to The Shops Buckhead Atlanta

With two solid days of fashion shows and fashion parties, The Shops Buckhead Atlanta may have just created Fashion Week in Atlanta. The open-to-public event featured the Fall 2016 collections from many of their top retailers - talk about staying on trend with the "show now shop now" fashion movement.

On Saturday, September 17, Style South hosted the finale runway show at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta. Hundreds of guests and VIPs sipped on champagne at the luxury shopping destination while taking their seats and eagerly awaiting the runway show which showcased the latest looks from Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet, Canali, Les Copains and Etro.

Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet opened the show with their signature edgy glam for the modern woman. Canali followed with a classic collection of menswear. They featured a black and white houndstooth trench that stole the show. The third collection, by Les Copains, was an ethereal show-stopper with it's lace, layering and proportion. Closing out the annual Style South with a collection of menswear and womenswear was Etro. No one mixes color and pattern more successfully and elegantly than Etro.

The Shops Buckhead Atlanta have a winner on their hands and I bet they're already planning for next year!

[My] Design Session with Kit and Ace

I was invited by Kit and Ace at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta to come in for what they refer to as a "design session." What does that mean? Well, in my case, the design session turned into an impromptu photo shoot, but, the real purpose of a design session is to provide feedback to Kit and Ace on wear, style and functionality. They got an A+ from me on all counts!

The Canadian clothier has experienced acclaim for their "technical cashmere" - a proprietary fabric blend that is low maintenance, machine-washable and the softest textile you will ever touch. Their technical silks are just as soft. Beyond soft actually.

Another huge, standout quality about Kit and Ace is that they pay as much attention to form as they do to function. I was blown away with the details and special touches in their design. Kit and Ace will take you from office to night in great style (and comfort). They are on trend with every look but also offer classic styles that will carry you from season to season.
