A Night to Remember

lived up to its name. It was indeed an unforgettable night. As the kick off to the highly anticipated

Fashion's Night Out

, Atlanta was already buzzing with energetic fashionistas. Celebrities like the very handsome

Tyson Beckford

, hosted the event along with, R&B singer

Kenny Lattimore

and

Judy Mauldin.

Adding to the allure of the evening was a pristine 100ft red carpet which all guests got to walk on and were greeted by a swarm of flashing photography.

The VIP cocktail reception, catered by the delectable

Dennis Dean

, offered an intimate setting of fresh faces, models and good friends - a true party!

The 'design star' in the middle is celebrity designer

Michael Habachy

... this was a big evening for Michael. He designed the runway and venue interior. The runway was a 69ft elevated jewel of mirror and painted white wood.

Yep, that's me. Like I said, everyone walked the red carpet. [Thanks RNZ, for the great photos!]

Four prominent ladies who had everything to do with the success of A Night To Remember.

I recently suggested that perhaps "black was the new black" in my review of the

Jeffrey Fashion Cares

runway show and now I know it is after A Night To Remember. The abundance of African-American models on the runway was amazing and refreshing. Fabulous. [ As a latino, I'd like to see more people of color grace catwalks globally.]

Reportedly, vintage pieces by

Oscar de la Renta

and

Halston

were featured in the show, though not confirmed. The models were gorgeous and the fashion très chic and that's what mattered. Of course, that's not all that mattered. There was a greater message to the evening's fashion festivities - A Night To Remember served as a tribute and homage to

Bethann Hardison

,

Willi Smith

and all who have made strides to break down racial barriers within the fashion industry.
