Spectacular Bodies as a Work of Art 2011
[/caption]
I was an attendee at the 1st annual
Bodies as a Work of Art
in 2010 and like most guests, I was blown away. Immediately following the inaugural event I approached the
Randi Layne
to a)congratulate her on the evening's success and to b)tell her that I wanted to be involved in the 2nd annual Bodies. Randi said yes and asked if I wanted to "judge." I said "NO way! I want be one of the artists!"
Here we are one year later and I have absolutely no regrets. In fact, judges
Harriet Leibowitz, Tom Sullivan, Mitchell Anderson, Rich Eldredge
and
Warrick Dunn
had the toughest job of all.
About six hours into my painting, I walked through the backstage area to grab something and had my first glance of the other creations. I was blown away and mesmerized all at the same time with the creativity, talent and quality around me. I thought to myself, "thank goodness I'm not judging, damn!"

is a charity fundraiser (and labor of love) created by
Randi Layne
and
Ken Goldwasser
. Along with Chelko Board Member & Gallery Curator,
Adam Malm,
they have sweat, cried and stressed, literally, to produce a spectacular event. This year, Chelko teamed up with another incredible non-profit,
.
The event was beyond amazing. From the artworks to
Anoop Desai's
performance to the energy of the guests, no other Atlanta benefit comes close to Bodies as a Work of Art.
Stay tuned for next year!
