Meet CATHERINE DYER:
fashionado: You played Sally Dodd, a woman switched at birth, opposite Nia Vardalos, in the hit show Drop Dead Diva. How did you get this role and did you just love it?
Catherine: I auditioned for it. I loved it! I loved Brooke Elliot!!! The whole experience was fantastic.
fashionado: Tell me about Demi!
Catherine: Demi Moore is exquisitely beautiful. She has a very sweet demeanor and she provided a comfortable work environment. Oh, and her hair! Her hair was remarkably shiny.
fashionado: Do you have any fashion weaknesses?
Catherine: Vintage jewelry, specifically beaded necklaces and handbags. Handbags are little works of art. I look for them in old films. Every decade produced amazing pieces. The same goes with jewelry. Deco jewelry is phenomenal. They are exquisite in craftsmanship. I prefer the more flamboyant pieces matched up with a simple dress or even with jeans.
fashionado: Lets talk about Sandra Bullock and The Blind Side. The movie, which is based on a true story, comes out tomorrow, November 20th. What is Sandra Bullock like?
Catherine: Sandra is funny and wonderful. She is as nice and pleasant off screen as you would imagine and goes by "Sandy".
About the movie:
"The Blind Side" depicts the remarkable true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle. In the latest chapter of his inspiring story, Oher was a First Round draft pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, selected by the Baltimore Ravens. The Touhys were there to share the moment with him."
Catherine was just lovely. A little tidbit of acting trivia for you: Catherine's hottie hubby, Jason MacDonald, an accomplished actor himself, played the role of "bad guy" who shot "Jane" on Drop Dead Diva. (But he's really a good guy!)
