Stella McCartney designs Justin Timberlake ‘Man of the Woods’ Tour Wardrobe
Stella McCartney collaborated with Justin Timberlake on wardrobe for his ‘Man of the Woods’ North America and European tour, which kicked off in Toronto, Canada with over 100 further dates over four legs in 42 further cities over the next 10 months.
Following on from Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl collaboration with Stella McCartney back in February this year in which Timberlake wore a custom McCartney design for his half time performance, the pair have teamed up again. This time McCartney has created a wardrobe for Timberlake’s ‘Man of the Woods’ tour along with outfits for the tour’s dancers and band members.
Stella McCartney commented: “Justin has such innate style, and he embodies our menswear collection in many ways. Collaborating with him on his world tour wardrobe is an incredible opportunity…I’m so thrilled and proud that he chose Stella McCartney Menswear.”
Taking a different approach to the stage costume idea Timberlake has instead worked with McCartney to develop a customized wardrobe for his tour. This will allow him to mix and match incorporating his favorite pieces from the Stella McCartney Menswear Autumn Winter 2018 collection alongside bespoke designs and pieces from his personal wardrobe to create distinctive outfits for each performance.
Timberlake’s key styles include camo splatter Prince of Wales check bomber jackets, trench coat and combat trousers teamed with wildlife prints. In addition, retro inspired chevron tracksuits are a part of the wardrobe along with signature Stella McCartney effortless tailoring looks in flannel fabrics. The wardrobe consists of sustainable elements that are core to the Stella McCartney philosophy including organic cotton and repurposed fabrics.
Dancers will wear Martin Ridley wildlife prints on shirts, hoodies and t-shirts made of organic cotton associating to the ‘Man of the Woods’ theme. To accompany Timberlake’s tracksuit looks dancers will wear organic cotton short and long sleeve t-shirts in striking chevron style. The 15 piece band will wear camo splatter printed blazers, bomber jackets, waistcoats and shirts.
This is the first time McCartney has collaborated on a full tour wardrobe with a live performer.
