The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York opened on May 9th with an exhibition titled PUNK: Chaos to Couture. Earlier this week they hosted the annual celebrity studded, Met Gala to kick off and slam-dance the festivities. [Images.] PUNK: Chaos to Couture presents and looks over the influence, impact and relationship between the punk movement and fashion.
“Featuring approximately one hundred designs for men and women, the exhibition will include original punk garments and recent, directional fashion to illustrate how haute couture and ready-to-wear borrow punk’s visual symbols.”
