Ladies, just this once, remove your Loubs, Blahniks or Choos and run to the movie theaters to watch Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s. I went to a screening last night and I’m ready to watch it again. Fashion lovers and history buffs alike, will enjoy the documentary about the iconic Fifth Avenue retailer. Well, fashion lovers will probably enjoy it a little bit more. But truly, the film is so captivating that it will engage anyone. Scatter My Ashes takes you under it’s couture wings, so to speak, and offers an insider view and perspective of all things Bergdorf’s. From it’s somewhat humble beginnings to it’s current global standing to entertaining anecdotes, the film is a lesson in American style, culture and heritage. BG’s fashion director, Linda Fargo is absolutely delightful and passionate. Lets just say that if Anna Wintour is the Devil Wears Prada, then Linda Fargo is Glinda the Good Witch. She, as well as a number of Bergdorf execs and sales associates, including the amazing window display geniuses, opened up about working at BG – made me want to get a job there! Many of the best stories came from the designers themselves. There were so many, I couldn’t possibly list all the designers featured in the film, but here, lets drop some names: Karl Lagerfeld, Vera Wang, Jason Wu, Rodarte, Michael Kors, Marchesa, Thom Browne … NOW, go see Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf”s!!!
