While Atlantans cheer on their favorite nominees this award season, they can delight in knowing that Atlanta’s very own has already clenched a noteworthy win. In the Palladium Alliance International Jewelry Design Contest, Atlanta designer and metalsmith Dawn Muscio of D. Muscio Fine Jewelry Studio took home the grand prize for her palladium and diamond “Bowtie” entry. This year’s competition called for contestants to enter red carpet-inspired statement pieces that were creative, fashion forward and exemplified the attributes of palladium. Out of more than 300 entries nationwide from custom jewelers, jewelry designers and retailers of in-house custom jewelry, Muscio was recently announced the overall winner. Her red-carpet inspired design was a leather-strapped palladium bowtie adorned with white and black diamonds (retail $22,880). Her second entry, a matching pair of palladium bowtie cufflinks also adorned with diamonds (retail $5,075), was named a finalist.
