I’ve been a fan of Proenza Schouler for many many seasons so going into Jeffrey Fashion Cares with the knowledge I would get to meet them was a huge thrill. As Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez entered the media suite at the Loews, the entire room first got quiet then followed by greetings and smiles. I was joined by the Examiner’s Anastasia Simon and WSBTV’s Heather Catlin as we worked our way towards an introduction. The two ladies and I enjoyed a few pleasurable minutes with fashion’s “golden boys.” They had just finished telling us about their mini- beach vacay when the publicist whisked them away… and though I felt certain I wouldn’t have another chance to speak with them again, I was content to have spent five minutes in their company.

The evening began with a glass of champagne at the Presidential Suite of the Loews Hotel. Old friends, Jennifer Brett of the AJC Buzz and Rich Eldredge of Atlanta Magazine, along with new friends, the Examiner’s Anastasia Nicole and Heather Catlin of WSBTV’s Hot Topic waited for the Jeffrey Fashion Cares guests of honor to arrive for a fun and casual media soiree.
Jennifer Brett, living up to the title I gave her of “Twitter Queen”- and yes, she is tweeting – Jennifer looked lovely in a deep blue layered dress that brought out her beautiful blue eyes. Read the rest of this entry »

I guess you can say that the Artmore Hotel was kind of Fred Schneider’s “private idaho” last night as he entertained a few close friends and some new ones. Joining the B52 was long time friend and philanthropist, Cathy Smith, Event Consultant Bill Kaelin and Kevin Bryant, Executive Director of Pets Are Loving Support, PALS. Throw in a few drag queens, the glo ATL dancers, an aerialist or two and DJ Vicki Powell and you have a party!
Full Disclosure: The dancers weren’t dancing, the aerialist wasn’t flying around and the drag queens weren’t a drag! Though Erica Lee talked about the heavy beaded gown she’ll be wearing. Nicole Paige Brooks will be a sexy Ring Master and Bubba D. Licious slipped into Prada heels, a gift from Cathy. When Nicole convinced Bubba to let her try them on, Bubba yelled, “Now you’ve ruined them!”… too funny.
