Do we love this or should we run from it? I’m just not sure. Maybe the Cuban in me is channeling some nostalgic inner- Quinceañera memories or perhaps its my label-whoring obsession that makes me like the dress? On the other hand, even as pretty as Sonam Kapoor (daughter of Anil Kapoor – Slumdog Millionaire) looks on the Cannes red carpet, I would never style anyone in a princess-like dress. Sorry Dolce & Gabbana! Love you, mean it.

After missing the red carpet mark a few times recently, Nicole Kidman made a strong comeback in a beautiful and glamorous Dior gown. She was attending The Great Gatsby premiere at the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival.

An edgy, modern hairstyle was the perfect complement to the classic floral silhouette. This is some serious star power at play.

Now, I’m not the first person to make sexual references to food nor will I be the last. With that said, the first course, “smokin’ shrimp n grits” gave me an instant tongue boner that never went away. It was like having multiple orgasms [in your mouth]  as each tasting was more delicious than the next!

What made the menu so titillating?? Okay, this was a brunch menu tasting, so here it goes: We started with bbq shrimp in creamed stoned-ground grits with scallions, bacon, cheddar and chipolte cream. Next: the Cajun Croque – house cured tasso ham, spicy remoulade, melty swiss, garlic toast, Louisiana hollandaise and a fried egg. Should I continue? Next up: Smoked beef hash: cast iron skillet taters, brisket burnt ends, fresh herbs, onions, fried egg and smoked paprika sauce.

By this point, as the food porn marathon was turning into a food coma situation, Bone Lick BBQ owner, Mike LaSage, brings out samplings of Bourbon milk shakes… OMG … need I say more??? 

How about PB&J stuffed French toast? Peanut butter marscapone stuffed French toast smothered with a warm berry compote. I died a happy man.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York opened on May 9th with an exhibition titled PUNK: Chaos to Couture. Earlier this week they hosted the annual celebrity studded, Met Gala to kick off and slam-dance the festivities. [Images.] PUNK: Chaos to Couture presents and looks over the influence, impact and relationship between the punk movement and fashion.

“Featuring approximately one hundred designs for men and women, the exhibition will include original punk garments and recent, directional fashion to illustrate how haute couture and ready-to-wear borrow punk’s visual symbols.”
