Let them eat CAKE? Nah, hearing them live is way better! CAKE was just the latest guest rockers to entertain fans in Atlanta as part of DaveFM’s Circle of Friends concert series. They jammed out on the swanky 27th floor of the W Midtown’s Altitude Room to a couple of favorite tunes and a few new songs. They sounded great! CAKE has achieved a polished sound without compromising their musical aesthetic.
About 100+ DaveFM / CAKE fans gathered for the afternoon pre-concert leading to the main stage the following day at the fabulous Fox.

DaveFM’s own Mara Davis hosted Circle of Friends to include Q&A with CAKE. Lead singer and founding member, John McCrea told Mara and fans that it took the group about two years to fine tune their sound. They went through lots of misses before scoring a hit. Adding trumpet to the mix…btw, fantastic!
