If you haven’t been to the Irwin Street Market in Inman Park, you are missing out! I met up with my good friends Holly Firfer and Tom Sullivan for lunch yesterday and boy, did we eat some good food!
We walked in through the Funky Monkey Coffeehouse and said hello to owner (and friend) Shawn Arnold. On the way to our table at N’awlins, we bumped into Jake of Jake’s Ice Cream – dessert was definitely on our agenda.

Where’s Holly! Well, let me tell you, after tasting her iced coffee drink, the Mint Chocolate Chimp, I just had to have one. It was that good! And I’m that that crazy about mint, but in this beverage, the mint was subtle and didn’t overpower the other delicious flavors. So, Holly walked over to see her hubby, Shawn at the Funky Monkey and a few minutes later, I had my own Mint Chocolate Chimp.
There’s Holly! Lunch had arrived. Tom is showing us his dish, red beans and rice with Andouille sausage. Holly had the Muffaletta which was such a large dish it could have fed a small village. Needless to say, Holly took most of it home.
This was my dish, the very yummy Blackened Shrimp Po-Boy. I ate every bite.
I will certainly go back to the Irwin Street Market: great lunch or breakfast, creamy ice cream and good coffee. The ambience is unbeatable too. Its eclectic, cool and cozy. A very welcoming atmosphere with its own subtle sense of chic. The vendors within the coop are pleasant, friendly and take pride in providing you the best cuisine and service.
We were so happy Holly could join us! She was traveling quite a bit for CNN APN’s Roadside America series which she was hosting. You can catch Holly on July 31st weekend, starting at 1pm, when she anchors CNN’s Headline News (HLN). I know I’ll be tuning in!
